As a DJ and promoter Wilhite has been holding it down for over twenty years. His 'Vibes New & Rare music' record store has been a main source for soulful electronic music in Detroit until its closure a few years ago.

The 'Vibes New & Rare music' compilation only features material that Rick Wilhite truly believes to represent the artists. After releasing Volume 1 in 2010, Wilhite now delivers the sequel, featuring pioneers and new talents alike from New York, Chicago and Detroit.

The dancing had begun in the depths of the cave. The music whirled and echoed around the chamber as the fire began to blaze. This was nothing like he had ever imagined or foreseen. The place was packed to the rafters and the warwhoops of a nation would be heard all throughout the night. This was animalistic, primal by nature and as the time went on the chaos descended into a carpathian rave of monstrous proportions. Away they went, on and on. 

Youngg P steps up to release a jacking primal house come techno EP for the infamous up and coming Private Persons record label. This one is packed with drive and precision.

Banoffee Pies Records ninth edition to their original series lands on BP009 featuring Vancouver duo Plush Managements Inc. aka D. Tiffany, rising producer and label manager at the wonderful Planet Euphorique, and Regularfantasy of Total Stasis, with their sub heavy trance state track with rolling hi hats "Plush Egg" on the A1 The A2 comes from Kiev born techno artist Voin Oruwu who joins with futuristic break beat drum rhythms and swirling vocal hook on "After All". The B side takes a darker turn with raw and clean dance floor garage from another local Bristol, Hartta on "Trust Issues". The B2 ends with experimentation from the classically trained UK musician Keppel, with game like soundscapes in "Atari" s accelerating cinematic instrumentation.

Moving here voluntarily from the western sector pissed off their parents and friends, so they had to join the local freak music underground. Apart from this, what other option do you have as a free spirit, in a place that is controlled by crazy old men and their weird ideas? Right! You deal with the messed up reality by making some beautiful messed up music. And the duo did very well! Spreading their Mutant Freak Funk over four tracks that will make your nice little suburban homestead collapse, this way it will fit in perfectly with the industrial ruins in the neighborhood!

Omnia Vanitas – the newest compilation from the emerging France-based label Lowlife Cartel – explores musical horizons from jungle to rap and combines dance music with an experimental approach. 
Honeälome (ABCD) opens the EP with a catchy saturated beat layered with distorted vocals. 
Kuzma Palkin (Gost Zvuk, Wicked Bass), also known as Kausto, features his minimal production with the immersive rap flow of MC Suprem Cam. Solotape (Low Income $quad) ends Side A with a heavily deconstructed experimental sound, oscillating between techno and an analogue lofi vibe. 
Side B kicks off with the invention of emo jungle – "Tru man cry", by Hajj (Dawn, BFDM), a cutting-edge jungle-leaning track mixed with a detached vocal sample in the background. 
"y-x4-rec", by Buttechno (Rassvet), is a more grounded ambient track with a focus on texture, but without sacrificing the dystopian, singular productions of this artist. 
"Purgatory", by the rapper duo 2Beast featured by Ko$te, on canadian producer Hexmane's beat, closes the EP on a dark Memphis rap vibe. 
Once again, the newest compilation represents a solid roster of emerging, genre pushing artists and some of the biggest cats in the game.
