JKriv returns to Rocksteady Disco after a six-year break with his stunning ‘Adaptation EP’. 

This super solid five tracker continues J's hot streak on seemingly every great label around the world including his own Razor-N-Tape, with a deep organic sound, thanks to it being mostly produced in his MPC3000 era. 'Greene Street Lament' kicks it off on a boom bap beat tip. Next 'Adaptation' gets the party started with lush strings, piano, and a huge bassline. On the flip is 'Total Pleasure', a midtempo boogie house joint with enough sub to rattle your car door handles off. 'Vibetown' continues on the MPC tip with killer breaks and chops for all the heads. Lastly, the 'Adaptation (Dub)' closes out with the driving dance floor sound we all know and love JKriv for. Housed in a gorgeous picture sleeve and cut loud to vinyl, this EP is an absolute must have.

Originally "Back in the Days" released in 2004 on Resopal Schallware marked Tigerskin as a torchbearer for pop-oriented groovy House, reviving the raw energy of early 90s bleeps, swung beats, and untamed dance floor spirit but transforming it with the technical possibilities of the early 00s into his trademark romantic vision.

From the pulse of “Dance Now” to the cringey charm of “Party in My Car,” Tigerskin proved that Back in the Days was more than a look backward - it was a bridge between era's: a reminder that the roots of club culture still grow, still breathe, still move people.

Two decades on, this re‑release doesn’t just bring back nostalgia - it reminds us that reminiscing every once in a while can push creativity. The album and a few EPs around it were the start of a pretty different approaches to club music for Tigerskin, that led to several big tracks and remixes, some now considered to be classics by many. 

The three formerly unreleased and slightly more club-oriented bonus tracks had been recorded the same year but were amongst many that didn’t make it to the album.

Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Bad Colours returns with his fourth LP ‘Promise’ on Bastard Jazz. Fusing house, proto-techno, soul, hip-hop, and UK garage, the album pairs hypnotic club rhythms with moments of personal reflection, exploring vulnerability, desire, and transformation. Inspired equally by the energy of underground dancefloors and the quiet moments in between, ‘Promise’ is both dancefloor fuel and headphone therapy.
Musically, ‘Promise’ is a vibrant journey through Bad Colours’ genre-blurring world. The title track kicks things off with an up-tempo, harp-driven house groove featuring rising UK harpist Rachel Kitchlew, layered with ghostly female vocal snippets. ‘We Never Choose’, featuring Life On Planets, is a catchy, filtered floor-filler that alternates between rap and smooth, soulful vocals. ‘Moment of Silence’ spotlights Brooklyn’s Brandon Markell Holmes, whose emotive delivery soars over an intimate, late-night rhythm, while ‘Freaks’ enlists early-2000s Brooklyn dance-rap legends Ninjasonik for a bass-heavy chugger powered by their rapid-fire flow. ‘Nightcap’ rides a funky bassline and crisp percussion with vocals from longtime collaborator Jarv Dee, and ‘Home’ closes the record on a piano-led, MAW-inspired groove, with Bad Colours delivering his own intimate spoken-word poetry.
The project marks another evolution for London-born, Maryland-raised, Brooklyn-based artist Ibe Soliman, whose career has seen him DJ alongside James Murphy, Mark Ronson, and Q-Tip, produce for the mighty Kendrick Lamar and Faith Evans, and collaborate with Korean rap megastar Jay Park.

As he moved through the blocks, the city pressed back. Narrow corridors of wind between towers funneled against his chest; the heat from subway grates rose up his legs; the pedestrian current forced his shoulders into constant negotiation. Every intersection was choreography—pause, pivot, slide through the gap before the light changed.

This was urban physicality. The fight for space amidst the concrete warzone which surrounded him.

Everyone was out for themselves.

Yuu Udagawa is remixed by Takuya Matsumoto on a new EP for Razor-N-Tape. A classy release pairs two singular producers and weaves a wicked tapestry for the dancefloor.

For the first time, Endrik Schroeder and The Hacker have joined forces. Their unique sounds and styles have combined seamlessly to produce a 12” that draws on their own musical histories. The title track pulls the listener into a darkened sweaty basement, a space where neon lights leer and quivering speakers vibrate. Melting elements of new beat and rave revelry, the track is bawdy and bold. Robotic samples cut through siren blasts, clean snare rolls skidding in thick basslines and creamy breaks. Two remixes follow, both care of fellow French producer: Back From The Wave. First up is the “Breaky Remix”. Adhering to the club origins of the source material, this remake sends melodies ever higher as drums lift elated lines to the stern refrain of “Emergency”. The “Indie Remix” closes. The glowsticks are sheathed in this version, instead it is the soaring keys that are given the limelight with beats bolstered for extra bite. Three tracks set to delight and ignite dancefloors.

Rebecca Felix joins the band to sing lead vocals and nails the stern yet blasé delivery that makes the original so captivating.

After wrapping their cover, Brochure returned to the studio to produce the Paradise Mix which has its sights on Italian shores, winding seaside roads and open air night clubs.
