The multi faceted functionality of the human spirit was a remarkable feat. The machines watched with fascination as they looked out upon the condition of those living amongst the sand. In the midst of the desert lay their spectacularly mirrored space ship, an entity in its own right and a strange spectacle to behold amidst the Middle Eastern backdrop. They pondered relentlessly the nature of such interaction between body and mind, yet they could not comprehend or decipher the orchestration of actions and which was a result of the other. 

Lockyear has received far reaching support around this release. The latest edition to the OTB catalogue sees him deliver three inspired cuts which sit somewhere between techno and progressive house. This one is good.

The green grass blew softly in the wind and the woods loomed eerily in the distance. The sun set down by the wall as the last of the summer daylight crashed ominously from above. In the depth of the night this place would become a temple, a prism of chaos and the beginning of the end. A warehouse could be heard closing up for the night in the distance. The clatter of shutters rattled in the air as the lights flickered in the street outside. This was to be the location they had dreamt of. Here in the garden they were safe. 

roadman kicks off the new year with a release on Tact Recordings. He delivers two moody house cuts with rough edged groove and allure.

Sleep was but a dream for now. She lay upon the sheets wondering when her eyelids might fall hazily shut. It had been weeks since she had last been able to drift off in peace, her mind continued to race and play melodic tricks upon her every blink. The scenario had become repetitive and boring yet still it continued to plague her ever evening. She had always pondered the nature of life as an insomniac but had never imagined she might find herself in such a position. Whilst the world lay still, she was wide awake . 

Dirt Crew Recordings are set to release a new EP from Icelandic up and comer Felix Leifur. Based in Reykjavik he is an artist who continues to place emphasis upon the value in community and locality, there are a steady stream of musicians emerging from the area.

The stakes had been raised so damn high that his legs had begun to shake. As he watched the wheel spin he continued to count the rotations of the spin, praying and wishing that the star might land where his marker was at. The room had gone eerily quiet, or at least it seemed that way to him. He held tightly onto the green felt of the table beneath his fingertips trying not to blink. Soon the marker would drop and his night would end in one of two ways. 

Gary Gritness returns with a second edition of "The Sugar Cane Chronicles" for Hyperdub. He brings with him four heavy hitting funk cuts in his own peculiar fashion.

The temperature was ferociously hot in the dark basement. Outside the sun was at its highest peak and the concrete was smouldering under the blistering rays. Underground, it was much the same bar the lack of light. This was by choice and not an accident. Nobody liked to dance in the eye of others judgement, hence the shadows were best for such fun. As the room begin to fill it was remarkable to watch the people shed their clothes, layer by layer they became more free. The sweat dripped from above. 

Daniel T steps up with two tracks for the fun loving Cosmic Pint Glass label. He is accompanied by Lauer and Jack Pattern who offer a set of spectacular alternatives to his own arrangements

From the beach he looked out to sea. In the distance he could see her perched upon a rock, a song in the air and her beauty radiant in the warmth of the daylight. She was a creature of the water, a blessing and a curse upon sailors across the world. Capsuleuse was her name and she was the queen of those who lived beneath the waves. They said that her song could kill a man but how might it when it sounded so sweet upon the ears. He began to swim, to see her, to join her. 

Doline releases a four track EP on the Netherlands based record label Who's Susan. "Capsuleuse" is a track packed with rhythmic energy and a breakbeat edge.

The dancers are really the ones which push the beat. At least thats what they say. My heart tells me otherwise for if there were to be no music there might be no dance. Is it in fact the sound which makes the dancers move, or is it the dancers movement which leads to the production of sound. Such questions should not be explored too heavily, there was little reason to continue down this path of chaotic delusion. Instead she began to move her feet back and forth. That was all. 

Goshawk steps up with a new release on Hudd Trax. "My Heart" features a close friend of Ransom Note in the form of Astral T. Luxurious vocals with a warm groove.

It was that time of year again. The sun beamed down upon the open fields as the birds flew hazily in the breeze. The scent of pollen hung heavily in the air as the bees flew between flowers. Spring had sure as hell sprung and the misery of winter would soon be just a bitter memory on the outskirts of his imagination. It was difficult to contain a smile as he walked peacefully amongst the long grass, gold surrounded his every fibre and the light in the sky flashed glaringly. 

George McIvar is set to release his debut album on Aa3 Recordings on the 10th of February later this month. "Nulls" was inspired by a trip to Japan and is an exploration through static and drone.

The raging waters rushed furiously down the side of the mountain and over the edge off the cliff face. The waterfall was a typhoon of chaos and misery as he watched the wooden panels of the boat being swept away beneath him. The rapids were fierce and violent, wicked and wretched. There was little hope that he might survive but as he clung firmly onto the plank beneath his body he began to sing a song that he recalled from years ago. From the distant beach it had come to him upon the breeze, he repeated it now. 

Minimal Violence are to release a three track EP on Jungle Gym this month. Following a previous release on 1080p they now delve deep into the depths of house and techno with a rugged edge.

The dusty library was full of tales gone by. The history of our great planet lived within the wooden shelves, the golden, dirty pages revealing the very passage of time itself. He dragged the ladder across the dimly lit room and placed it down beside the bookcase before proceeding to climb. The ladder wobbled back and forth beneath his weight, he frantically clutched onto the wooden beams which were weighed beneath paper upon paper, scroll upon scroll and age upon age. 

2020 Vision throw a curveball into the mix as they prepare to release a new EP from Photonz, a producer who has previously released music on Creme Organization, Unknown to the Unknown, Dissident and more.

The moonlight cast a white glow across the blue water of the swimming pool. As she watched from the diving board up above she began to shake, the water was a long way down and she did not know when she might fall. It had been hours since she had initially climbed the ladder, attempting to overcome her fear of impending death and height. The water looked so peaceful and still, the contrast between her racing heart and that which was down below was striking and beautiful. 

Rebar are set to release a new EP on made of CONCRETE in celebration of the record labels second anniversary. It sees the founders behind the imprint collaborate for the first time, the result is as follows...

The letter was the last reminder left of her presence. He looked downwards towards the fireplace, the roaring flames swallowing up every one of her last possessions. The wood burned black and the smoke billowed from the chimney of the lonely cottage. His mind was on fire, he read it once more before he let her go and then cast it out of reach, She disappeared into the darkness of the night, out of sight, out of mind. He went to bed, awaiting the dawn. 

Niv Ast recently released "Before I Let You Go" as part of BLDG5's compilation "Nightingale Floor". The track has since been remixed by Autarkic and Yovav respectively, it is the latter which we bring to you exclusively. Listen to the Malka Tuti affiliated artist's version.

The grassy hills were hidden beneath the clouds. The tinted rays cast a hazy glow upon the countryside and the trees danced amongst the wind. The forest was alive with the melodic chirps of birds and the sound of raindrops. As the water fell from the sky it landed upon the leaves scattered across the forest floor. Autumn was on its way and soon this place would be a rainbow of gold and orange, The ground crunched beneath his boots as he breathed in the crisp air. The seasons were changing. 

Noneside are set to release a four track EP which features a number of up and coming artists, Nocow being one of them. It is his track which we bring to you exclusively.

As the gang marched the boulevard they cast a mean shadow upon the sidewalk. Shutters began to close fiercely up and down the high street in anticipation of violence. All but one... The saloon at the tail end of the street blared music proudly in a triumphant protest. They had opted to defend the town from the travelling troublemakers, the villainous vagabonds and terrible tyrants. Tumbleweed blew amongst the sand, and the red grains scurried in the breeze.

It is with much excitement that we are able to premiere a new track from C.A.R. The project of our close friend and writer Chloe Raunet, she needs little introduction.

The Northern Lights hung ominously above the snow glazed kingdom. From the wooden hut he looked out to space, watching the distant wonders of a far away empire of which he played no part. Banished from his home planet he must now abide by the rules of earth. The borealis continued to flash up high above his head, the stars flickered and he began to cry. His cosmic destiny had vanished before his very eyes and the lights went out in the dark. 

Cosmic Rhythm are set to release a new floor filling EP from Spiritual Emphasi. The release follows on from recent appearances on the label from the likes of Rhythm of Paradise. It's all pretty new age, but brilliant as a result.

The glow of the dying sun cast a radiant warmth across the golden sand. In the distance she watched as the outline of a boat moved against the skyline, its sunset shadows hung heavily upon the deep blue sea. The ocean was still this evening, peaceful and calm, it always was following a storm of such stature. Damage was all around. It would take some time before the little village would recover, for now they simply sat by the shore, looking out and waiting.

Dr Banana are a mysterious collective associated with Banoffee Pies, most commonly known for selling clothes, from time to time they emerge to release a sporadic assortment of music. The second edition to be released by the label features an array of well crafted jungle.

The corridor seemed endless as the bell buzzed in his ear. Leaving school was his favourite time of the day, such attention to detail in concentrated spells left him feeling numb and dry. As he walked through the wooden doors out into the daylight he could hear the sound of screams and chants from the nearby playground. He remembered the innocence of youth, back before exams, house parties and ate nights. He had never imagined himself to be a teacher, yet here he was lecturing the youth of tomorrow with the knowledge of today. Walking home he sighed. 

Scissorwork is set to release his first EP on the recently founded record label The Other Planet. He delivers four cuts of dreamy house and dusty grooves.

The light at the end of the long tunnel loomed ominously in the distance. As the car proceeded to travel beneath the sea the corridor appeared to become darker and darker. The flickering glimmer of headlights was all that could be seen amidst the dust and dirt of the gloomy channel crossing. The road continued its decline beneath the waves, it was difficult to imagine that concrete was all that kept them from being swallowed by the oceans depths. Onwards they drove. 

Marvin & Guy are busy at the moment having recently announced their new EP on Permanent Vacation. The pair have also been brought in to take on remix duties for Deltawerk on a new release form Atomnation records.

The mysterious Nozz debuts on Madrid's Rotten City. His two track original EP also features mixes from Monoblok & PSLKTR, Sebastien Tex and our favourite from Daniele Baldelli's Cosmic collaborator, Dionigi. The motorik driven original is given a deep space astral workout, replete with spoken instructions, falling stars, reversed solar crashes and wonky keys motif. Dial 'I' for Intergalactic.

The speech was a gimmick, a joke, a fraud. As if it would make any difference in the long run. As if they wouldn't be stood in this same spot next year listening to the old tired rhetoric which had been told time and time before. That's what politics was, is rather. Nothing had changed in decades, the wheel continued to spin and we the hamsters keep on running round and round in circles shouting to get off. One day we might finally pluck up the courage to hurl ourselves from the wheel and into the abyss, until then nothing will change. 

The Carry Nation are proteges of David Mancuso and Johnny Dynell, this month sees the pair release a new EP on Batty Bass Records. It is accompanied with some fine remixes, such as this from Justin Cudmore of The Bunker & Honey Soundsystem.
