Entre os tantos inventivos subgêneros atraídos pela dance music, 'Dark Disco' (embora o som em si não seja necessariamente novo, o termo é) é a vereda pela qual o DJ e produtor mineiro Maco Maltauro resolveu se atrever no seu programa mensal 'The Dark Side of Disco', transmitido na function.fm todo terceiro domingo do mês das 16h às 18h. A sequência sonora de duas horas é alimentada pelos ritmos hipnóticos abnegados da discoteca, e vem carimbada com a personalidade de Maco: reverberante, queer, frenética, multicultural e louca.

Tess Roby has an eye and an ear for capturing beauty. Working across a few different creative disciplines, predominantly in music and photography, the Montreal-based artist's output feels intimate and ethereal.

When she isn't shooting otherworldly images, you'll find her crafting music that takes you somewhere else - her stirring vocals drift over a bed of twinkling melodies and dreamy atmospheres, that draw inspiration from dream pop, new wave and ambient.

So far these productions have found a home on Mike Simonetti and Johnny Jewel's Italians Do It Better label as well as Tess' own imprint, SSURROUNDSS, which she launched this year as a space for her own productions.

When she's not making music solo, she's producing and singing as part of Dawn to Dawn: a collaboration with friends Adam Ohr and Patrick Lee. The group have been crafting off-kilter dream pop soundscapes since meeting in 2018, and are now working towards the release of their new album which is set for release this summer on SSURROUNDSS.

Following the release of Tess' sophomore album, Ideas of Space, again on her own imprint, she pieces together a mix to ease sore heads on this fine, sunny Monday.

This time a duo coming from Italy and Netherlands will inspire your ears they come by the name https://soundcloud.com/synthbiontanassimandrus .
Their world is an ambient/experimental project born at the end of 2018 by the collaboration between Nicolò Faggiani and Tommaso Gobbo.
Their musical background comes from different musical experiences as DJs, vinyl collectors, and founders of Electronic Music Culture podcast series.
Making converge their love for electronic sounds, field recording, and meditative experiences, Nicolò and Tommaso shaped Synthbiont & Anassimandrus project around the research of the deepest ambient atmospheres. The core idea is to create musical journeys in which the listener can enjoy an immersive and emotional experience in a unique soundscape.

S: Hey guys so tell me what was your first track you fell in love with during your childhood? 
Tommaso: Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley.
Nicolò: Bad Moon Rising by Creedence ClearWater Revival.

Tommaso: In A Few Places Along The River by Abul Mogard
Nicolò: Falsely Justified by Moral Extrication 
S:...and maybe could you tell us how did you get into the music cooking pot ?
Tommaso & Nicolò: We met during high school and I still remember the day Nicolò invited me to his place to listen to his production. Nothing too serious but from that moment we started   doing things together, private parties where Nicolò was playing tunes and me, at the microphone. From there everything evolved very naturally to something more serious and professional   and we ended up founding together 2 small podcast series, playing at dub-reggae gatherings, festivals, and gigs. We always spent a lot of our time enjoying music together in vinyl shops, events, and meetings.
