With far too many chin strokers and music elitists around, we need people like Kristy Harper who choose to bring a sense of fun and sparkle to their musical pursuits instead. 

An advocate for female empowerment and body positivity, she translates these messages into both her productions and DJ sets. So far her releases have come via Let’s Play House and Monologues Records, followed by her acclaimed ‘My Body, My Future’ track, which samples Samirah Raheem’s viral interview at the LA ‘Slut Walk’. 

As a DJ, both behind the decks or on the Netil Radio airwaves where she holds a residency, she’s guided by a pure and unadulterated love of disco, Italo and classic house; sonics that filter into much of her musical output.

That goes for today’s mix too, which revs through a cocktail of synth-driven rhythms and bright acid-laced cuts, and follows Kristy’s fuego remix for our latest R$N Records release from Bawrut and Chico Blanco, which you should listen to stat!

Following the release of Indonesian experimental duo Senyawa new album “Alkisah”, les ateliers claus and Kiosk Radio are proud to present "Alkisah" REMIXED.The Brussels-based projects are proud to invite Sugai Ken (Japan), Céline Gillain (Belgium), Sagat (Belgium), Tolouse Low Trax (Germany), Dntel (USA) and Front de Cadeaux (Italy/Belgium) to reshape ‘Alkisah’ stories. Through this eclectic selection of artists, Les Ateliers Claus and Kiosk Radio aim to bring a variety of musical genres and shine a different and surprising light on Senyawa’s compositional works. Going from a musique-concrète approach, towards dub, experimental club and dance floor bangers, the Remix LP highlights the timelessness of Senyawa's music.Senyawa's Alkisah was co-released a few weeks ago by 44 independent record labels from all over the globe, in an attempt to decentralise the hierarchical workings of the music industry and its distribution system. Each label partner was given "carte blanche” on artwork, promotion, packaging and number of copies released. The labels involved were also encouraged to include remixes from local artists, leading to hundreds of reinterpretations around the world.“Decentralization should be the future. The Gun Well Street are pleased to present The Gun Aid LP. 14 tracks that perfectly encapsulate the sound of one of too many guinnesses underneath the neon lights late into the evening. The kind of leftfield jams we love, be it techno, house, dub, EBM or industrial. An eclectic bunch of oddballs, just like our regulars.

Many of our nearest and dearest have donated songs, including Daniel Avery, Nitzer Ebb, Roisin Murphy, Andy Bell (as GLOK), and The 2 Bears’ Raf Rundell. We’ve got the first ever track from Mister Deltoid, the brand new project by Nathan Gregory Wilkins & Paranoid London’s Quinn Whalley. Ivan Smagghe and C.A.R. make up I.C.A.R. Body Hammer’s Scott Fraser, Richard Sen, Cherrystones, Nuphonic’s Dave Hill & the Ballistic Brothers as Soul Revivers, Arveene Juthan & Shamon Cassette as Bon Voyage, Skylab with Cecile Loyez, and our very own Mondowski are all on board. Design work, as ever, by Rusty. We’d like to thank everyone involved not just for their contributions, but for their continued support and friendship.

The Gun isn’t just a music venue, it’s very much a community pub in-fact, of all the artists on the tracklist, only Roisin hasn’t DJed there (yet). A year of disastrous Tory policy in the face of a global pandemic and things have never been so tough, but that doesn’t just go for us. It goes for the entire community. As such, proceeds from this project will be split between keeping the pub afloat, and to be donated to local families via charity Hackney Quest. Hackney Quest are a local charity who have worked with The Gun in coordinated projects, such as organising an anti-racism street festival on Well Street over the last few years.

All bandcamp pre-orders will also receive digital downloads of tracks from Jorge Velez and Toresch which have never been released digitally before.
