Brussels based musical activist and collector/selector DJ soFa aka soFa Elsewhere joins us for the 30th edition of our Off The Record mix series after a short break, and what a mix to get it all back kicking off. Known for his excellent Elsewhere compilation series he curates, soFa shows his diverse selection here travelling from chuggy industrial and percussion-y rhythms to acid baselines and pumping house.

Théo Muller has played a key role in the French electronic scene for the past decade as a co-founder of the Midi Deux parties and label in Bretagne, a former resident DJ and curator at La Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris, the label manager of Krakzh or more recently as the line-up curator of La Ferme de Quincé (a farm and cultural venue in Rennes).

Putting his Breton origins at the forefront of his work, the talented DJ also established himself as a sharp producer in 2018 on the Concrete label with an EP hailed by Laurent Garnier, Chloé and Move D. He also contributed on Lumière Noire, Vastechoses, Worst Records, Eddy Larkin, Grid, Rutilance, Dôme from Astropolis and on his imprint: Krakzh.

That’s where he released in 2020 his first album “Gouzanv Pe Unanin” including featurings with Antoine from Positive Education and Swiss artist NVST. His journey with NVST began here, they later developed a strong spiritual connection that led to the release of their upcoming LP in March 2023 on Pensaments Sonics, subdivision of Hivern Discs.

In the meantime, he started a French electro punk band with two friends called “Dalle Béton” that will be on tour this summer and which was an undeniable highlight of the 2022 Transmusicales festival.

Able to play at any time and for hours, he has his own way of captivating the crowds though sets compiled of dub, techno and rock. From friendly raves in Bretagne to Dimensions or Montreux Jazz Festival, he knows how to have a special time with the dancers.

Jamie Paton releases music on [Emotional] Especial, Multi Culti, ESP Institute and Hoga Nord, having previously released on DFA, Dissident and Internajsonal as one half of Cage & Aviary.

He released his first solo ep, 'Bizarre Feeling’, on Emotional Especial. People liked it a lot; DJs played it, Tom Ravenscroft featured it on BBC 6 Music, DJ Magazine gave it single of the month. Someone paid €50 for a copy of it on white label.

He can be found playing all over, from London to Lithuania via LA, squeezing every ounce from the leftfield end of the dancefloor.

Now, here's a treat - a rare mix from the founder, legend and pioneer behind a special label. You know and love him, we do too... It's Zaltan!

Antinote Records is an imprint which has released a huge assortment of music from some of our favourite artists here at Ransom Note. Zaltan has acted as a pivotal curator behind the label and has achieved enormous success having released music by the likes of DK, Raphael Top Secret, Domenique Dumont, Tolouse Low Trax, Geena, Alek Lee, Iueke and many more.

The vision behind the label has always been to release music that is not aligned to style or genre, not restricted by preconceptions and stereotypes. As such it has been a crucial outlet for many who have chosen not to conform. Every release is varied and offers an insight into the wild and wonderful musical personality of Zaltan himself - who as you can imagine has excellent taste. 

Antinote is presently celebrating its 50th release in the form of Yarra River's "Frogmania" EP. However, they have more recently announced a new LP from OMMA. One you won't want to miss. 

We invited Zaltan to show us around his musical realm, he kindly obliged.

Toujours à chercher l’irrégularité pour la placer avec vigueur, il délivre des vagues de dancefloor au sein de la musique pour salon, faisant ainsi une marque de fabrique inimitable. Il a enregistré ce mix à la maison, bien sûr en plein confinement, avec les kids qui dansent à côté et le déconcentrent sans cesse pour lui montrer leurs nouveaux Lego ou qui s’embrouillent pour une carte Pokémon.

Zaltan, boss of the Antinote label with an impeccable reputation and spearhead of a marvellous house, bringing extremes in a harmonious balance, is also an insatiable and picky selector. Always looking for the irregularity to place it with vigour, he delivers waves of dancefloor within the music for the living room, making an inimitable trademark. He recorded this mix at home, of course during the lockdown, with the kids dancing next door and constantly distracting him to show him their new Lego or messing around for a Pokémon card.
