Phantasmagoria

Legowelt is the alias of Dutch producer and electronic musician Danny Wolfers. Known for his lo-fi, analog-heavy sound, Legowelt has been a prominent figure in the underground electronic music scene since the late 1990s. His music blends elements of house, techno, electro, and ambient, often characterized by dreamy melodies and gritty textures.

Hailing from The Hague, Netherlands, Legowelt gained recognition with early releases on Bunker Records and Clone. Over the years, he has released dozens of albums and EPs under various aliases, building a cult following worldwide. Beyond music, he is also known for his visual art, software synthesizer patches, and contributions to synth culture.

Legowelt remains an influential and prolific artist, celebrated for his DIY ethos and dedication to hardware-based music production.

A resident at Sisyphos, she brings her own flavour to the release with a killer remix that hits just right – slick, unrelenting, and dripping with intent.

This is the statement which will greet you as you discover the musical workings of Zozo. Based in Istanbul, Nigar Zeynep, is a stalwart of the Turkish Electronic music community and has been since the late 90's. Her tastes are informed, intricate and eclectic, they remain devolved from much of the big room club sound which is often associated with dance music in Turkey. She is at the forefront of those leading a new wave of artists and DJ's into experimentation and discovery and this has been supported by others who have observed her potential: the likes of Tolouse Low Trax, Krossfingers, Renate and more.

Championed by leftfield scenes and house music aficionado's alike. Mavrik has become a staple party amidst London's sprawling nightlife. It can often be difficult to trust the unknown, and many parties have come and gone over the years. However, the sentiment behind Mavrik remains the same as it was originally founded upon: a party for friends without the allure of big names, good music for good people. Past guests include the likes of Nick the Record, Red Greg, Tim Sweeney and more. On the 12th of August the party will return alongside Mr Bongo Soundystem and John Gomez for a night of music which promises to be both well informed and dancefloor driven. It is a party after all. The event will also be raising money for local children's charity Free to Be. Baring all this in mind, we caught up with Roddy (Mavrik) to talk music and records as he contributes to our Wednesday mix series.
