Lawrence Abu Hamdan is an artist living in Dubai and a self-described “Private Ear.” His interest in sound and its intersection with politics originate from his background as a touring musician and facilitator of DIY music. This December, for the launch of Renaissance TV, Abu Hamdan resuscitated his alter ego, DJ Business Class, and created this newly recorded mix spanning Moroccan trap, Egyptian mahraganat, and Palestinian hip-hop or electro sha’bi tunes.
