There is something to be said for a small stage in a dingy little club with bad lights and unpredictable electricity.  Every band has its origin here, with a few friends, not necessarily even fans of the music yet, a nervous tension in the air and 6 songs that you have poured your heart and soul into.  THE RESCU is no exception and no stranger to this environment.  Formed in 2010, the 3-piece were ready to see if they had what it takes... All that remained was to turn up the amps, count in the show and pray that the next 30 minutes would be something special.

After their very first show of this nature, THE RESCU spent some time away from the city, writing and rehearsing the material for their upcoming performances and debut studio album. The band drew their inspiration for the songs from various elements and life experiences. Their genuine and heartfelt love for South Africa and its people inspired many of the tracks along with their deep roots in classic rock. Artists such as Lenny Kravitz, The Foo Fighters, U2, Pearl Jam, and Kings of Leon all provided the ingredients for the mixing pot that was HERITAGE SOUND Recording Studio located in the city of Cape Town. It was here that THE RESCU captured the essence of what is a true alternative rock album. A mighty drum sound, powerful bass lines, massive guitar tone and dynamic vocals combine to form an outstanding debut album. 

During the latter half of 2010 and throughout 2011, the band went on to play with some of the biggest names in the SA music circuit. Sharing the stage with Just Jinger, Foto Na Dans, Arno Carstens, The Dirty Skirts, and Prime Circle, THE RESCU have proved its where they belong. These performances have given the band the street cred they require to hold their own at any level of live performance which resulted in them being booked to perform at the Cape’s biggest music festivals, namely “Synergy Live and Rocking the Daisies.” The three-piece rock band produce a huge sound with their oversized drums, all valve vintage guitar stacks, and head high bass cabs. If it’s a rock show you’re looking for, it’s a rock show you’ll get.

THE RESCU are signed to Sheer Sound and have just released their debut album and music video featuring their first single, ‘I Did It For You’. The single has been playlisted on SA radio stations while the video is on rotation on DSTV’s MK89.  Catch THE RESCU live at SA’s premier live music venues this season!
