Recording of myself playing the flute years ago. The second tune comes from the solo album of Galway-born flute player John Creaven, who was educated in Belfast. That's probably where he picked up the tune. Mick O'Brien & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, and Dervish recorded it in different keys.

Mighty piping from John Rooney and his son Larry recorded in Leeds, West Yorkshire, 2005. John was the nephew of two legendary travelling pipers Johnny and Felix Doran. He is believed to have introduced Dave Williams to Paddy Keenan. May he rest in peace.

A jig named after a street in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Sheepscar is an area associated with Irish immigration.

Sheepscar Street

This is a reel called Johnny Going to Ceilidh, which I learned at Harry Bradley’s flute workshop in Tokyo in 2005.

I believe Harry learned the tune from the flute playing of Fermanagh man Cathal McConnell. Cathal writes he picked it up from the whistle player Johnny Maguire of Co. Cavan, the father of Seán Maguire.
