‘Hat-trick’ has three simultaneous layers – hence the title: 1st  layer are pentatonic chords that progress and change, 2nd layer are sequences of pentatonic melodies but use all 12 different notes. The 3rd layer has what is called a ‘ground bass’ and this is like a stand for the hats and coats to hang on. I play piano, there is double bass player – Dave Storer, and on drums – Charles Sheinman. It was recorded in North London - October 2002. ‘Mosaics #2’ has Jim Dvorak playing trumpet, Rob Townsend – alto saxophone, Stu Butterfield – drums and Olly Blanchflower – double bass, and was recorded in the summer of 1996. The final piece – ‘Eastern Spirals’ is the trio again.

A piece from the brand new album by Charles Sheinman featuring Mark Griffiths on Guitars and Basses.
This piece was composed on the piano last year and has now been reworked with live drums bass and guitar.  
It is in 7/8 time signature .The styles' closest description is progressive rock, but it is an original piece .
