Neglect Projection

Born Jason G. Boatwright Jr. , The Shogun was always destined to fall into the depth of musical paradise. Straight out of Houston, Texas , The Shogun was never to fall short of the originality in the Hip-Hop and Rap genre. With influences from native rappers such as Bun B, Big Moe, Fat Pat, and Pimp C, Shogun wanted to collaborate a southern bite to his already East Coast oriented style. Shogun currently has 2 mixtapes under his belt. The Beginning, which was recorded at the age of 16 with the instrumentals from various artists. Not receiving any recognition, the idea of creating music was put on a halt. A couple years later coming out of High School "I realized I wanted nothing else in this life but to create music, even if it meant my words would never be heard." Thus dropping the second mixtape Highly Enlightened. This mixtape shows a more personal side of who the Shogun and really lets you get inside of his head. The recognition received from Highly Enlightened trumped that of The Beginning but "I still wanted something much greater". After working on the third installment of his mixtapes for over a year The Shogun's house was broken into and a list of items were stolen. Savings, recording equipment, and a computer with pages and pages of lyrics(years of written work). The Shogun knew it was either give up on the dream and cut the losses or come back just that much harder.So now at the age of 22 The Shogun has been working on his debut album (title in progress).
