3 songs make up The Exile EP. The music features the same combination of Mossy Nolan’s Bouzouki and Colm McGowan’s Guitar playing, but opens up to a more electric guitar/effects based sound scape to frame the songs.

The Exile EP is Mossy Nolan’s second release, and follow up to his Debut Album in 2012. The debut album featured both original and traditional songs and instrumental pieces owing to a strong influence of traditional music.

The Exile EP is a bolder production, with one of the tracks “INHERITED” produced by George Brennan (Melodica Deathship & Warlods of Pez)

Its not trad but its not folk either, a mix of rip-roaring delicately played instrumental compositions taking inspiration from all over Europe, together with  spectacular vocals. The Silken Same's music has its roots in the folk and traditional realms for sure, but has the scope to reach a wider audience.
 
Stating off life under Mossy Nolan's own name, the duo released an album first in 2012 and an EP in 2016. The album received lavish praise from well-respected corners of the musicpress, and topped album of 2012 polls. It comprised of elegantly crafted songs and tunes both original and traditional played on Bouzouki and Mandolin. Colm's edgy style of guitar playing, both acoustic and electronic, adds a dynamic characteristic throughout the record and compliments the material beautifully.

Their first release as The Silken Same was traditional song Jennifer Gentle.
