The late Melvin Pell recorded the first part of this track and emailed it to monica sparrow as a wav file on January 21, 2009. It is unknown what he used for the drum sounds.  Monica added hand-clapping, 1 track guitar & vocal, 1 track guitar, 1 track vocal.  Recorded on Tascam 4-track magnetic cassette tape recorder, April 24, 2012 at Barbara Freebird's house.

A field recording of 17-year periodical cicadas Magicicada septendecim on Sony minidisc made at Sky Top picnic area at Watchung Reservation, Scotch Plains, NJ, on  June 2, 2013, by Monica Sparrow. The cicadas seem to move into some trees and not others, and their chorus song ebbs and swells with the changing wind. Other sounds heard in the recording are birds, cars, a motorcycle, and wind noise. The recording was copied into Nero WaveEditor where the volume was increased and saved as a wav file.
