The Sour Dogs are a 5-piece Newcastle based rock band with an eclectic mix of influences in their sound.
The band have been together for around five years. Coming from all sorts of different directions has brewed an intoxicating foot tapping noise that can only be described as Tyne Delta. Start with some rock, add in some country (but not the western), blues, surf, r’n’b, and Tex-Mex, and you are just about there!
The songs are a potent exclamation of love, loss and reconciliation wrapped up in catchy tunes and singable melodies.

The philosophy is to never join a band with people who all like the same music – it just narrows down the possibilities! Better to be in a band of good friends who share a love of playing and writing music together.
We all have our own reference points such as albums and gigs that have shaped us as musicians but the music we play hangs together with various common threads weaving through our songs.
Two guitars pushing their amps into overdrive, a solid bass and rolling drums, touches of a howling harp and some stories from the Tyne Delta……….
These songs were recorded at Polestar over a week or two and reflect where we are at the moment.
