You can convince yourself that you ain’t got no problems
But it’s been years since things were right so how you gonna solve em?
You still have friends, but you offend, you could still be a leader
Maybe it’s time?

Who makes these clowns that you defend with such sincere emotion
These ancient laws you keep around and follow with devotion
May you be judged by how you treat the most at risk among you
Where is your God?

We know you worship wealth
And fame, you bunch of dreamers
But you’ve forgotten there is risk in being world leaders
Reject the hate the idiocracy still propagates

Looking up, the city towers
Been separated several hours

4:00am, the smell of coffee

Sleep is for the tired of living
And we’re still right at the beginning
Learning how to travel while in love

Sometimes wonder if you’re doing alright
But the wine is cheap and so is the night
And there’s nothing much to say so we hop another train
at first light

I’ve already been up for hours
This hostel feels like christmas morning
Let’s unwrap this city slowly
Tell our children Paris felt like home

A little ditty I wrote and recorded last summer and just remembered about when I was cleaning out my hard drive. I like this tune! Hope you do too!

Recorded in Logic Pro X. Played the drums, bass, and organ on a midi controller, guitar was DI with the amp modeler in Logic, and the vocals were recorded with a decent condenser mic in my bedroom.

Sick And Tired

This song came from an idea that I started working on a year ago when we were living at BC Children's Hospital while Eliot fought cancer. This past weekend we got to go to Camp Goodtimes, a camp for kids who have or had cancer, and it inspired me to finish the song while sitting on a bench looking over the lake. Came home and quickly recorded this while the memory was still fresh.
