I'll Let You Down Tonight

We are The Sweet Ordeal, a three piece indie folk band that play melodic and bittersweet songs about love, loss, longing and redemption. Our themes draw upon the personal and the public: the latter from esoteric real life stories. 

Founded in 2012, by John Hamilton and Nick McMaster and joined by Hannah Beaumont in 2015, we play original material on acoustic guitar, ukulele, glockenspiel, cello, bass, keyboard and electronica, alongside different combinations of voice and harmonies. 

Recent gigs have taken us to the legendary Brighton folk venue The Brunswick and also seen us support Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers) on the Brighton leg of her 'Pieces' album tour.

We have been described by Mark Bruce from The Self Help Group as "Confident, versatile and above all interesting!"
