This is my submission for the 2019 LEWITT mixing contest - I did a bit of editing, some automation, and had a lot of fun (read: trial, error, more trial, more error...) experimenting with a wide range of plugins ranging from Logic Pro X stock Pultec-style EQ to the Waves SSL channel strips, Abbey Road Saturator, Berzerk Distortion, Kramer HLS, CLA Compressors to the McDSP 6050 Ultimate Channel. I tried to keep it dirty but not completely reckless, interesting and intense without messing it up beyond recognition. I hope you enjoy!

I wear a lot of hats - musician, composer, producer, engineer. I have eclectic tastes in music, but I tend toward heavier styles - I used to scream and play guitar in a metal band, which surprises some people when they meet me. I'm currently doing a lot of writing, recording, and working on designing and building a project studio in my new home. I have a degree in Recording Arts from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, and a Master's degree in Telecommunications. In my research, I use scientific methods to understand how media, specifically audio, affect people. Always looking to learn about gear, history, and new methods. The overarching goal has always been to get better as I go. You can see a range of recordings here from the past 10+ years - many of them are early concepts or even some intermediate and "final" mixes that are (quite) far from perfect, but every experience is an opportunity to grow.
