Indie ghost folk from the West Coast - Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Raised a punk rocker who was swooned by the sounds of Bon Iver, singer-songwriter Steve Paziuk formed The Town Council in 2017. This dichotomy nurtured a diverse approach to indie folk and a genre-bending sound. The Town Council’s emotionally thematic songs bleed vulnerability, and aim to hold nothing back. Produced by Josh Ruddock, their 2024 release “there’s light behind it” digs into the deepest avenues of the human experience, putting a lens on life, death, and the catharsis in-between.
