Drei Musikschaffende spielen Stadt, Land, Fluss

Firnwald, maj_min und The Unused Word kennen einander seit der Schmiede Hallein im Jahr 2008. Trotz räumlicher Distanz, zwischen Salzkammergut und München verteilt, machen die Drei unablässig miteinander Musik. Durch die Unterschiedlichkeit ihrer Zugänge finden sich immer wieder neue Kombinationsmöglichkeiten. 

Wie Hannes, Anna und Stefan klingen, wenn sie separat produzieren und dabei dasselbe Ziel vor Augen haben, kann man aktuell auf ihrem Release „Stadt, Land, Fluss“ hören. Die musikalische Reise bezieht sich auf die Wohnorte der Drei und teilt sich - nomen est omen - auf in den entspannt pulsierenden und zugleich nimmermüden Sound der Stadt München, das waldige, ewige Gebirgsgefühl des Salzkammerguts, und das sich ständig verändernde Wesen des Flusses Alz. 

Der Wunsch von The Unused Word, diesen Release nur auf Bandcamp und Soundcloud zu veröffentlichen, wird von Firnwald und maj_min freundlich unterstützt und mitgetragen.



This release's name "Stadt, Land, Fluss" is a play on the German name of the game Categories. When Hannes, Anna and Stefan realized that the three categories City, Country, and River represented their respective places of residence, they decided to make a three-track EP about the city of Munich (maj_min), the countryside in Alpine Austria (The Unused Word), and the river Alz in Bavaria (Firnwald).

"Stadt, Land, Fluss" EP - 02 - "Land"

This is a cover version of a song I really love: "Trans fatty acid". Originally released by Lamb in 1996 (album: "Lamb"), I first heard this tune in the Kruder & Dorfmeister version on "The K&D Sessions" (1998). The song was originally written by Andy John Barlow and Louise Ann Rhodes. I do not own any rights, and I just recorded this cover version because I love and respect previous creations.

My version was a one-take live recording.

About this track:

I started collaborating with Nikola and Florian of Soulpeeling many, many years ago. When I moved away from Vienna, we met less frequently and somehow this track was never finished - until recently, thanks to DJ Testa who took care of the mixdown. This is probably the oldest track idea on this EP, but I really wanted to include it because I love the energy behind it.

Hello there! :) I haven't uploaded anything new in a while, so I'm happy to share two songs at once with you today! Both songs are part of the Duzz Down San 10th anniversary compilation called "X". This compilation features lots of label family members - I'm posting a list of all artists and tracks below. This track is called "Baby Johnson". It was produced by my label colleague, producer and radio host @trishes. The compilation was a very good reason for us to finish this track. The song is about me a.k.a. "Baby Johnson", a woman on a horse (trying to avoid saying cowgirl here, no sexual connotation or content whatsoever) roaming the Wild West and being a bad-ass. :)

02 Nødstop - Test Me

RELEASE DAY! Yay!

My friend and label colleague Testa and I have joined forces as Nødstop. In December 2017 we started working on tracks together without any plan in mind. The collaboration went as flawlessly as possible, and today our first release called "Ø" sees the light of day!

01 Nødstop - Summer

A very quick track for tonight's beatmaker session, done in 2 1/2 hrs, no proper mixing (only one speaker & lack of time) or mastering. Sorry for that.. maybe there'll be another version!

Going Nanananana

Found a half-done NOFX cover from 2011 when I was going over some old drafts, and tonight I finished it. I don't own the rights.. this is just a tribute. Anyway, the original version is grand. In fact, this goes for the whole album, Punk in Drublic. It's from 1994, but these lyrics to this song are still equally applicable.
