A Game We Play was one of the first songs I had ever written. I started the progressions and early verse melodies as far back as my 5th grade year of elementary school. At that point I hadn't a clue where the creation was going, but when my first amateur talent show band came along 2 years later, an inner motive helped me to finish the composition. Up until that point, I hadn't identified the content nor meaning of the song itself. As soon as an issue arose between a fellow band member and I over a specific guy, I wrote down my personal frustrations in the form of lyrics, which is the exact message you hear today.

Don't Forgive Me was a heartfelt composition that seemed to just flow out of me one late night after a regretful release. I had been going through a catastrophe of emotional issues: bullying, post-traumatic stress, and painful emotional illnesses that are very common in today's society. Because of a numbness and lack of being able to feel physical pain, I fell into a very deep trench of addictive behaviors, also known as self-injurious behavior. After that late night of digging deeper in that trench, I identified the wrongs in my behaviors, and wrote Don't Forgive Me as an apology to all of my friends and family members for my regretted release.

Jillian's Song started out as a playful composition for a friend in Boston, Jillian Jensen, who in this past year (2012) appeared as a semi-finalist in America's X-Factor. Although, as I progressed in writing the song, I couldn't ignore a specific insight experienced when being around her. She had seemed different in contrast to the last few times I had seen her, and I had a gut feeling that she was having a tough emotional life. Transforming the playful composition into an inspirational message to Jillian, my sister and I released the song to the public about 1 and 1/2 to 2 years before Jillian appeared on the X-Factor, admitting to the pain of being bullied and dealing with the emotional chaos and social torture of hiding the cruel behaviors of others for various years.

Please Let Me Go is an eloquent metaphor created in one of my darkest moments, describing the agony of post traumatic stress and the desperation of getting away from the repetitive, painful images of past events taking a toll on my physical being. It describes the failed attempts of trying to run away from my feelings, the haunting of graphic remembrances, and the desperate temptation to end my existence.

One O'clock was another song written in the middle of the night, about what was parading through my mind when I couldn't get to sleep. The content is a combined subject of relationship issues, twisted together with the experiences of being bullied. Starting as a pop-rock genre, it changed into more of a pop-jazz genre thanks to the inspiration of my sister, and her suggestions to make the song sound more unique.

Scream At Walls is a heartfelt composition written about how it feels to be constantly bullied in the social atmosphere. Scream At Walls describes the pain of not being accepted, the feeling of isolation, and the heart-wrenching experience of feeling like you are the only one who understands the alienation of today's cruel bullying culture. This creation was written for everyone else out there who has been, or is being bullied. It was also featured in a profound documentary called "Bullied To Silence" by Dog Eats Hat Productions, in which my sister and I were casted into. My Beautiful Angel was a song written in my late years of junior high about a boy I was going to break up with. The lyrics reflect the pain in his point of view, expressed in the form of an instant message conversation that had occurred after my phone call to him. Because of the male perspective, I simply converted the song into a female narrative, considering I am female. When listening to the song, it sounds as if I was the one being hurt, when in reality the roles were switched.


My Beautiful Angel

Music that combines pop, straight-ahead rock, gutty R&B and a little country with a message; An inspirational message targeting the pain and alienation that teens can face in today's culture, including bullying and other traumatic experiences.

The pair, now 17, have been performing live since they were 13, and are well on their way as one of the rising stars in New England's jam-packed musical landscape.
