What is Lewiside?
It's the time away from the family to get the promotion.
It's the blood on your diamond ring.
It's the devastated forest for your corn chip.
It's the dark side of making a good thing.
For us it's an album that came at the cost of friendships, relationships and the trust of the kind people who believed in us. Not because of some dated notion of how you should behave when you’re in a band. But because making a record in Sydney in 2015 on the favours of those around you, can be tough.
At the beginning of December, the beginning of summer, the happiest time of the year we present you with an apology.

These 6 previously unreleased tracks are a collection of B-Side material from our last EP 'Mansions'. As part of our mailing list now, you are welcome to stream or download this record which no one has ever heard before.

The release of this was sparked by the response we received from the leak of the track 'Walrus' and the resulting public push for us to release more material from the last record that was left on the cutting room floor. This record, unlike 'Mansions', was mixed and mastered independently by us in the same style and fashion as our first full length album 'Candy Flu'. For this reason these B-Side tracks share a similar sonic touch as both 'Mansions' and 'Candy Flu'.

We're very grateful for the support we have received over the years and it makes us incredibly happy and proud to release material we have written together which would have otherwise been lost in the Ether.

Black Coat

If The World Was Round

The song was started in a tin shed in Byron Bay, Australia around 2019, and was finished on the 1st of November 2022 in the sub-terrestrial underground tunnels of Prague.. aka: the beautifully ravenous 'Studio Faust Records'.
The song holds it's Australianess whilst layering a strict pallet of eastern European guitars, mic's & synthesisers born between 1960-1985. Mixed on a 70's SSL 4000E console to tape you have no excuse but to accept the imperfections as charm, it is not possible to make a digital revision- I normally wouldn't mix this way because it takes twice as long, but this song needed it.

To record the new EP, the band occupied a space that has come to be known as the 'mansion' in Wollongong. The house built in the 60's used to be home to a wealthy old lady who owned a theatre in town and who sadly passed away in the master bedroom. Since then the 'mansion' came under the control of mostly students and artists and was transformed to more of an artistic playground.

"We recorded this song from three different rooms at once, Paul was in the bathroom with drums, I was in the hallway with bass and Rohin was in the master bedroom recording guitar. We used the layout of the house to get studio separation from three different rooms at once. The song was first written downstairs in the jam room."...

‘The Walking Who’ have always leaned into a DIY approach to music production. From the dilapidated 1970’s mansion in Wollongong, Australia where Brown started the project, to his current creative Labyrinth: A -4 sub-terrestrial converted WWII army tunnel otherwise known as ‘Studio Faust Records’ in Prague, Czech Republic.
