 KIFARU', which means White Rhino in Swahili.
 is JP van der Merwe, a new up and coming DJ on the  Progressive Psy scenescene.

He has been djing for the last 17 years, experimenting with different genres.
He was a regular in the club scene, when vinyl was king.
Then cdj's came along and what a change to leave the real feel of vinyl behind, it was not a nice feeling.
His fulltime DJ career ended in 1999 and made way for his professional career, but his love and passion for music and djing did not end, as he was still playing at private parties.

He got introduced to Psy Trance in 1998 and was immediately hooked on the psychedelic sounds. 
As in life, everything has to go through a journey of growing up, so throughout the years, he started experimenting with the different Psy genres, but did not get back into full time djing, but just kept it up as a hobby, for relaxation at home, and playing at friend’s birthday’s and house parties.

December 2010, his friend Randal phoned him and asked if he wants to play at ‘Mother of Southern Africa Trance’ Cooks  private party, on the beautiful shore of the Eastern Cape in the Wilderness.

The crowd’s response to him that day was amazing and everyone wanted to know who this guy is.

That day he put some big smiles on faces and having a dance floor go off to his deep, fat ‘who is your daddy’ sounds, that took them through a whole journey, brought back his love of music and entertaining the crowd.

He decided, right there and then, that he needs to get back into the game, and that he will give himself a year to prepare properly, before he announces himself to the scene.
So hold on to your hats, he has arrived.
