Floaty AF

WASSUUUUP, I've finally recorded another song I wrote ages ago! Quick bit of background: I managed to write this entire song in the space of an hour after having the 7/8 rhythm in my head for most of the day prior. It was only recently, after getting my new Jackson SLATHX 8-string guitar, that I decided to double up the final "triumphant" sounding riff with the low F#.

This recording hails the debut of a couple bits of new gear. First off, I replaced my old Line 6 HD400 with a neat HD500X, and I also just got a wee MIDI keyboard today so I thought I'd have a go at making some sweet-ass synths; hence the new synth intro!

I'm actually pleased with how this came out; obviously there's a long way to go yet before I get a decent sounding mix and master, but I feel this is a big improvement on my previous recordings; and you can hear the drums fine! Maybe a bit too much...and the bass is a bit loud as well...

When The World Breaks

Okay so ages ago and I came up with a load of riffs that were heavily influenced by Opeth.  I couldn't come up with decent ideas for them, so I thought "I'll just stick them all together in Guitar Pro for future reference" and it ended up that I liked the end result. That was a few years ago, and now that I'm getting more confident with recording and mixing I thought I'd record them. Some mistakes here and there, but it's just a rough demo anyway! Hope you enjoy this random collection of riffs that totally don't rip-off Opeth in any way, shape or form!

So I listened back to the demo of "A Voice in the Dark" I did about a year ago, and it was pretty, eh, bad. So I went and remixed it using stuff I've learned since then. It's still not great, but you can actually hear the snare this time and overall it sounds better...as always, thank you for listening!

Yeah there's no way I'm ever gonna make a decent track out of this so I thought I'd upload it anyway. I originally recorded this not long after I got my Jackson 8-string and, after going over it time and time again, left it to one side. After listening to it again today, I thought it'd be a waste for it to sit and do nothing because that heavy riff is too good not to be heard in all its glory. Who knows, maybe a decent song will come out of it one day!

8-String Demo

For college we had to write a song, and a group of us got together and made an EP of sorts based on a Lovecraftian-inspired horror story. This is my contribution to the project in an instrumental form, and it turned out...heavier than expected. It's not a perfect mix by any means, but I'm actually really happy with how the song turned out in the end. Hope you enjoy the first song I've recorded  and uploaded to Soundcloud in almost 3 years!

Not been on this much so there's a demo I made a couple weeks ago. Sounds a bit like RATM so I'm pretty interested to see how it will turn out...if I ever finish it.
