“Chicken and Sprite,” a track from our EP Sacred Place, carries a nostalgic tone as it reflects on past relationships and the lessons they leave behind, shaping how we move forward in the present day.

"Pumma 2.0" explores the immigrant experience, sampling vocals from Vex's great-aunt, a Sri Lankan Tamil Carnatic singer. It tells the story of a family moving from Sri Lanka to London in search of safety, stability, and new opportunities. The emotional exchange between Vex’s modern vocals and her great-aunt’s traditional singing creates a powerful intergenerational conversation. With touches of tabla and Carnatic flute, the track blends R&B with Indian sounds in a way that feels both fresh and deep rooted”

We thought we'd release this little love song in celebration of us booking our first headline show at the Handlebar on St Michael's Street, Oxford on 1st March.  

Of All The Pretty Girls

A vibrant collective of musicians started in Oxford by Oli and Vex and grown in London. Fusing funk, soul, R&B, Indian and Sri Lankan influences, The 52s is a family of many musical colours. 

Having built a big following gigging regularly across London at Ronnie Scott's, Blues Kitchen and Sofar Sounds, the band are currently in tucked away working on new music for 2025.
