The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motorsports race in America and a long-standing tradition in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.

This album is a celebration of the racing teams who tempted the edge of these dirt peaks in the early 1990s. A soundtrack meant to bring the focus the fearless drivers of the past needed to make it to the top of the mountain.

SKID PAD

Touge (峠, tōge) is a Japanese word literally meaning "pass". It refers to a mountain pass or any of the narrow, winding roads that can be found in and around the mountains of Japan and other geographically similar areas.

In order to decrease the incline of mountain roads, thereby making them easier for commercial trucks to pass, engineers place a series of S bends in steep roads that provide access to and from high mountain elevations. These passes have become popular with street racers and motorsport enthusiasts, because they provide a challenging – albeit dangerous – course.

Miramar

The Miramar EP is an electronic, supersonic flight into the cold war era of the 1980s. It features seven tracks that celebrate the pop-culture fighter pilot worship of the time. Drawing on multiple inspirations and themes of that decade, Moondragon, the music project of Orlando based musician Troy Simpson, focuses heavily on military aircraft as a design aesthetic for the music and art driving the project. “Miramar” is the airbase which most of the classic 1986 film “Top Gun” was shot. The Harold Faltermeyer score of the film has been a huge inspiration for Moondragon’s sound overall, and the Miramar EP is a not so subtle love letter to him and his synth driven film scores.
