There is no live show today since Kbeach is broadcasting live from a big city event that is going on however Joe wanted to still put together a nice 60+ minute mix of some selects to hold you off until next week! Joe recorded this at the Soulection HQ and made sure to incorporate the energy that was flowing through the room that day. Shouts to Eric Coleman, Andres, J-Louis, Mike Gao, and Colta who were all vibing out with us. Joe took it back to the essence and brought back the classic feel good joints as well as his current standouts from the past couple of weeks!

First off, thank you to everyone who tuned into Soulection Radio live yesterday. We had so many listeners that Kbeach's servers went down. Sorry about that! We are working on it. For this week's special guest if you want to talk about pioneers in the game Mr. Choc is one of them. One of our favorite DJ's who's talent and accomplishments are not to be overlooked. Representing the world famous Beat Junkies crew and Skam Artists, the crew was blessed to have this man come by Kbeach and hit us with a set and great interview session. The thing we admire the most about Choc is that he has his ears close to the new generation of music and understands the culture. He threw down a really diverse set and kept us on our toes. Joe Kay was on his soulful chop vibe and has really been digging back into the classic neo-soul/boombap sound. Make sure you really pay attention to the interview at the end. Eric Lau, an international music producer and DJ based in London, composed The Waters for Making Waves Sanya (China). Lau created this theme with a pace that would work with the flow of the water. He also wanted to capture both the spirit of the water and the crew. ¨The water can be very serious but can also be very tranquil at the same time. The crew also showed a diversity and spirit that represents a lot of the modern world so I feel the elements in the music represents this fusion¨, says Lau. The flute, played by Olmo Cassibba, added life to the track and creates a subtle Chinese connection. There is also a cameo from ‘Horace’, 22 years old, the youngest crew member of he Dongfeng Race Team.
