Omnitron is a Finnish producer and DJ with a long history as a fan and producer of unique electronic music. For a long time, he produced music only for his own pleasure and that of his close friends without publishing it anywhere. The collection ‘It Was Always There’, released on Martyn’s 3024 label, eventually also included Omnitron’s debut track ‘Esoteric Break Device’. Omnitron is inspired by rugged landscapes, minimalism, dystopian sci-fi, the juxtaposition of nature and technology, and music that serves as a meditation.

About the mix:
The truth lies beyond 160 BPM! Usually filling my mixes with electro, IDM and adjacent genres, this time I stepped out of my comfort zone and chose a few 90s drum’n’bass classics as a starting point. I didn’t want to get stuck to 90s however, whereas I seek to build a bridge between the old sound and the more modern breakbeat music. I devote this mix to my dear teenaged son, who has reinvigorated my love for d'n'b with his enthusiasm.

A journey from fluffy safe zone to the deep and warped underground. 

In the first third of the mix the sounds stem from an unknown source that is hovering somewhere in the orbit, when around 28 minute mark things take a slightly darker turn. From 47 minutes onwards it's a full on mayhem with dark and gnarly broken rhythms.

2018 has been a big music year for me and to celebrate that I decided kick off a new series of mixtapes with a new alias. I think this first installment turned out to be quite good — I hope you enjoy it too!
