She Still is the third installment of the SHE series, which began in 2018.  This project is a compounded reflection on very important relationships and aspirational relationships with women in my life. SHE is not a particular person, but a force that moves me to contemplate the depth of my convictions about intimacy and relationships. SHE is a personal anthology transported across a series of emotive beats composed by myself with guest production from West$ide Vo and Sami Fong. This is also a reflection and personal-projection/note-to-self on being a better man in Christ. As I grow as a human being, I must be able to improve not just how I treat myself, but others, especially if I want to call them folks that are near and dear to my heart.

For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. We also believe in compound interest over this way, so that means for every ounce of doubt sent my way, ten ounces of success has to follow! I don’t make the rules! Nah, but forreal this song goes out to any and everyone that has experienced a feeling of disavowal, rejection, or hope lost in you. It does hurt when we don’t receive the affirmations we would like in our journey of self actualization. It does hurt when preconceptions already exist about you in a place you’ve never set foot before. I’m fortunate to have had people in my life that saw a fire in me and decided to fuel it. I’m fortunate, blessed, and privileged to even experience the opposition I have face, I do face, and will continue to face. Why you ask? Simply put: I go through it so I can speak to it. Don’t count yourself out even when others do. As long as you keep count (and keep moving forward) the numbers will add up in your favor, and number don’t lie.

There’s no questioning greatness, it just is. When you unlock that lid and believe with your heart, mind, and soul that you can make something, do something, be something, it has to manifest. Your spiritual food will produce thoughts, which will produce actions, which will produce results. Having that ability is a superpower and when you align your focus and energy then use that superpower to better yourself, your community, and all those whom you meet, there’s no other outcome but to ascend and fulfill the greatness. And even if you don’t get it done you would have certainly lit enough torches to keep the work going.

Georgia brought it home (no west side atl) with this collab! It’s cool because we were both really excited and fascinated with the work one another was doing, and pretty astonished frankly that there hasn’t been more of this type of collaboration! Our session was so much fun and full of cheerful energy and I’m glad we were able to make a milestone song in music history with this one! Also, thank you for being cool with me sitting with the recording engineers for you and David’s session, that was fresh.

Another soundscape specialist here! When I heard the music Geoff made and saw the creative process behind it, I gained a newfound appreciation and respect for the multiplicities of musicking. Making my way to Banff, Canada opened the door for the nxt lvl in my creative capacities. With this opening track, I wanted to create a piece that gave a glimpse of what people could expect diving deeper: a blend of raw vocals, instruments, a southern hip hop flair, and encouragement. At the same time, these are only some of the many elements poured into this project and only represent some of the ways I end up expressing myself creatively. I also wanted to communicate that even keeping it simple with lyricism can be a bold statement when the words truly carry the weight they deliver.
