Redzone live from Cork Ireland, with Dave Sully

dSully embarked on his journey into the world of DJing around 1991, during a time when his city pulsated with House Music. However, his interests veered towards the edgier side of music. In those early days, he found himself captivated by Belgium Techno, followed by hardcore and breakbeat. Guided by his mentor, Colin Dee, he began showcasing his talent in various local venues. As time passed, a vibrant Oldskool scene in Cork thrived, fueled by a steady stream of house parties and the distribution of mix-tapes.

During the enchanting Golden Jungle era, dSully's path led him to Northampton, UK, where he crossed paths with Jrumhand while sharing student accommodation. Seeking a change from the prevailing Ragga sound, Jrumhand's influence inspired dSully to explore the captivating world of Blue Note-style Jungle.

However, around mid-1996, a transformative shift occurred with the emergence of groundbreaking music from labels like No-U-turn, Prototype, and Photek. Following his return to Ireland later that year, dSully found himself amidst a significant turning point for Cork's music scene—the birth of the city's first pirate radio station, Radio Friendly. Suddenly, diverse groups of individuals sharing a love for the same music were connected through this underground broadcasting platform. For several years, dSully and other notable figures such as Colin Dee, Dj Source, Feral, and Torque hosted regular weekly shows, cementing their presence in the local Drum & Bass scene.

A subsequent return to the UK between 1998 and 2001 saw dSully's club performances steadily grow, as he aligned himself with various local crews.

Upon his re-entry to Ireland, a thriving drum and bass (DNB) scene awaited, with well-established crews like Fluid, Bassbin, and Phase 2 dotting the landscape. dSully became associated with all of them at different points in time.

However, in late 2002, disillusioned with the direction of the DNB scene, dSully made a conscious decision to turn his back on it. The genre no longer felt cutting-edge to him, leading him to shift his focus back to the cherished Oldskool sound. For several years, he immersed himself in playing Oldskool tunes, enjoying great success throughout Cork city.

Fast forward to 2013, and dSully found himself irresistibly drawn back to the realm of DNB. The sheer abundance and quality of the music being produced proved impossible to ignore. Presently, he is closely associated with Jet Li Productions, revitalizing his presence in the live gig circuit while also dusting off his studio equipment.

This collection stands as an archive of dSully's personal mixtapes, radio shows, and recent mixes, spanning over three decades of his illustrious career.
