Stars aligned when Nick Pereira and Jean-Claude Brown (aka Prof) met at Rude World Records and discovered their shared passion for all things music. Together they are the formidable production and DJ Duo known as The Rude Boys. 

These talented individuals combine their backgrounds in Western Classical Music to create unique sounds with explosive results. Nick’s unstoppable lyrics and melodies and Prof’s continuous ideas on fresh beats, is a concrete combination to expect big things from them going forward. Their style has become familiar with audiences as a “house and danced” based duo, but their bank of works spans everything from Dutch and Electro house, to Afro-deep, Tech and Hip Hop. 

To date, they have had the pleasure of working alongside artists such as Jimmy Nevis, Dean Fuel, Andy Carr, Roger Goode, Grimehouse, MIC Turner, Matthew O’Connell and more.

Nick Pereira

Nick is a classically trained pianist/jazz trumpeter and a talented DJ and songwriter. He has a reputable background in the music industry which includes him working alongside artists such as Dean Fuel, Andy Carr, Roger Goode and Jimmy Nevis (just to name a few). Coupling this, he went onto study a BSc Physiotherapy at Stellenbosch University. His Rude World adventure dates back to the early days of the then clothing retailer, “Rusty World”; Nick fulfilled the role as the Brand Ambassador and Official DJ for the brand. The synergy between the two evolved into Nick becoming the labels Executive Producer as well as one half of The Rude Boys. 

Jean-Claude Brown aka Prof

JC studied Audio Production at SAE Institute Cape Town after which he was assigned by Rude World Records as the Chief Engineer which includes all Music Production, Recording, Mixing and Mastering. He has worked closely with all Rude World artists and has fondly received the title of “Prof” as he is ALL about the music and the other half of The Rude Boys.
