As soon as we heard Rit, we agreed we were prepared to kill anyone who stood in our way of signing it.  If you've been anywhere near a rave in the last couple of months, you'll recognise the rasping bass hook (you might have caught yourself humming it in the shower since), as well as the huge stepping beat.  Evidently not content with the utter devastation this combo inflicts on dancefloors when it drops, CV twists the bass and synths up further, as Rit evolves and mutates throughout, only easing up slightly for the breakdown - incidentally one of the sickest, bleepiest second drops for a loooong time.  In summary, we've warned you that this has got a very serious dose of the funk.  Use protection.

Current Value was tasked with going in on one of our most popular tunes from last year (TSMDIGI003) and delivered a remix that left us astounded.  The attention to detail is evident from the off -  basically, he's taken all our favourite bits and made them much better.  Whilst retaining the spirit of the original, in contrast this remix drops with a hard stepping beat and homegrown CV bassline, before rolling out and flattening everything in its path.  Tried and tested on dancefloors from Europe to Australasia, this never fails to get a crowd moving!

Displaying our cultural (ahem)... 'innocence' by taking inspiration from '80s TV animation 'Ulysses 31' rather than other, more sophisticated source material, TSM returns from winter hibernation with this stripped back, neuro stepper.  Spacey, sci-fi pad work lends the intro a melancholic, dystopian air, before the drop comes and brings with it a pulsating, modulated bassline, which morphs and evolves throughout alongside aggressive synth and FX stabs.  Razor-sharp beats keep things nice, tight and rolling - we've been asked about this one a lot when we've played it out and that's normally quite a good sign.

THE SECT fire up the furnaces of their home label TSM, returning on fine form with a 2 track digital single, featuring SURFACING and FEEL THE FIRE. Both tracks bring renewed energy along with their signature technoid sound, fuelled with sparse and raw vigor.

FEEL THE FIRE places crunchy breaks against a backdrop of washed out mechanistic bleeps, erupting into a fiery but stripped down roller with restrained percussion and tech synths straining at the seams.

Growing up hooked to the bleeps and breaks of The Prodigy and London’s pirate radio stations, Blade and Virtua followed the development of Jungle to Drum &amp; Bass, eventually finding themselves drawn to the futuristic output of labels such as Underfire and Renegade Hardware – and in particular, the techno-edged Konflict sound.Meeting through friends in the late 1990s, they have been producing Drum &amp; Bass together ever since.
Their first release as The Sect came in 2003, but it was their debut EP on Offkey in 2006 that brought them to the attention of many of the scene’s most important players.A string of releases followed quickly on a host of other respected labels, including: Position Chrome, Freak, Obscene, Habit and Subsistenz and they have received support from DJs across the Drum &amp; Bass spectrum for their productions and remixes on labels as diverse as Cause 4 Concern Ltd, PRSPCT, Red Light, KSS Black and Utopia Music.
Despite the heavy production schedule, The Sect are as at home behind the decks as in the studio. Virtua has showcased his formidable turntablist skills at competitions and nights around the country and Blade has been DJing for nearly 20 years, playing regularly at events across the world, from the UK to Russia and New Zealand. They have established a reputation for high-energy DJ sets, combining tight mixing with cutting-edge dubs to move crowds wherever they play.
The Sect’s debut album ‘Fractured State’ was released on Subsistenz Recordings in December 2011.
