The Sheyana Band are a collective of sterling masters at interweaving rock solid rhythms and tightly packaged toe tapping grooves steeped in blues and storytelling. 

The first single from the upcoming album is a toe tapping dance track with a classic sound. 

A songstress, songwriter and performer, Sheyana delivers passion and sultry vocals, with Mainwaring’s signature guitar and the rock-solid rhythm section of Jeffrey and Thomas creating an exciting blend of swinging rock, contemporary blues, vintage harmonies and Hammond organ

Sharing the album title, Big Love clearly sends a message to the listener ‘to live is to give, so love big’. This album dovetails the dreams of a London girls migration to this, a significant milestone of rockin-blues and swinging soul-felt songs that are both emotive and accessible.

The Sheyana Band’s recent EP, ‘Ricochet’, came together during covid lockdown in Tasmania. Making the best of a bad situation and with time for reflection, Sheyana and the band focused on songwriting, and the music emerged from those conflicting times.

With the success of The Sheyana Band’s sold out single & album launches across Tasmania, their new music is currently getting national airplay, charting on Australian Blues and Roots Chart, Soundslike Cafe playlist along with some great national and international album reviews & editorials. The Sheyana Band’s first single & music clip Big Hearts was premiered by Australian music group Scenstr. Internationally, YESFM Sri Lanka have recently premiered “Big Hearts” single which is currently Top Ten on Yes Home Grown Charts, along with airplay on blues radio in Europe. The Sheyana Band are about to release their second single Remarkable Man from their Ricochet EP, which is already gaining airplay around Australia. The band are planning to tour East Coast Australia in 2024, along with some live shows in Sri Lanka.

London born, Tasmanian based, Celtic/Sri Lankan singer-songwriter Sheyana and her stellar band, features Tassie’s finest musicians with Wayne Rand on lead guitars/vocals, Dan Jeffrey on bass, Leigh Hill on drums/vocals, and special guests; Kelly Ottaway on keys & Mahlah Wing & Sherry Rand on vocals.

Influenced by the classics and drawing inspiration from their deep Tassie roots, The Sheyana Band fuse stylistic flavours of Australian Rhythm & Soul, Southern Country Pop, Americana inspired Roots & Blues, with English Funk, Rock & Punk. In the groove and served with passion they deliver powerhouse vocals, brilliant musicianship and heartfelt songwriting. Their captivating live shows have seen them share the stage with Australia’s finest including Deborah Conway, Hoodoo Gurus, Neil Finn, Meg Mac, Mojo Juju, Gang of Youths, Renee Geyer, Diesel, The Angels, Kevin Borich, Ian Moss, Bill Chambers and Fanny Lumsden. 
                                                                                                                                                                               Nationally they won “The Chris Wilson Award” for Emerging Act of Year” with their album Big Love in 2018. The Sheyana Band received a top ten hit on YESFM Radio Sri Lanka in 2015 with their single” Keep the Change” along with a Best Act nomination. Sheyana scored a blues award with OzSong International Songwriting Competition in 2011 for her song “Two Birds”, which also made it to the finals in “FreshAir” ABC National Songwriting Competition.
