“This mix has a load of recent releases out by artists and labels that have really been exciting me the last while, like Step Ball & Chain, Axces, Maara and Peaches to name a few. Mixed in with a few old school and other tracks close to my heart (Small Bear's 'Trance Analysis'), there's more styles of dance music in there than I'm usually comfortable with having together but they all seemed necessary. There's anything from trancey-happy house moments to the harder techno peak time ones, mainly though I'm hoping that the thing about each track that made me obsess over them came through for your ears. Jumping up the BPMs like that always excites me so I hope it does for those listening too.”

Something about our second mix in the series feels like it was recorded in a Chicago warehouse in the early 90s and only recently unearthed from the archives. It simultaneously takes us back while staying present and forward thinking.

Aguila supplies us with an hour long mix, dotted with acid basslines, inspiring vocals, and progressive melodies throughout.

"The selections were inspired where I was last year and also inspired by a party I played at as well. Last summer was a hard time and I pivoted more towards techno to cope (especially the more melodic Detroit sounding-kind; hope for the future) and proper tech house for those all-out-dance moments. A lot of these also inspired an upcoming EP out soon.

All of these tracks essentially were what I was listening to at the moment, alongside a heavy dose of 90s R&B. Very much “in-my-feelings” sorta time, hahaha. I’m sure it definitely comes out towards the beginning of the mix."

"I recorded this mix just as clubs were finally opening up again here in January and I think a lot of the tracks that came through were a reflection of what I wanted to hear out on a proper club system. There’s some early goa records I picked up over the summer (lots of them inspired by parties like SUB:SYSTEM, Whomp, etc.) and a lot of the more modern sounds from Aussie producers and labels like Jon Jones, DMO, Reflex Blue, etc. Hope you enjoy!"

Swedish four-piece Sun Citadel Club taking us on a 30 year journey through an 80 minute selection masterclass of progressive and techy rollers.

“We have a long and deep love for 90s progressive house and wanted a chance to combine these gems with newly produced house tunes with the same atmosphere and instruments. Not only this combined love, which has followed us, formed us and deepened over the years, but also the exclusively groovy, warm and immense feeling of joy of being in the woods inspired this mix. We love throwing parties outdoors and handled our craving for the (short :/ ) Swedish summer by warming up with this mix.”

Today we're thrilled to present a mix from dj and vinyl enthusiast, Lolo / @lolo-lolo-lolo-96. Laurent is half of dj duo @digabuna, and the pair also also run the amazing @coppiberlin studio. We were lucky enough to meet Laurent at Coppi a few weeks back - a weekly community session based in a warehouse in the East of Berlin. The project aims to create spaces and strengthen the community exchange of non-commercial underground music culture.

This mix shows a little taste of Laurent's diverse musical knowledge and influences - a fun and effortlessly mixed hour of percussive housey vibes. Laurent is currently based in Berlin, however plans to relocate to Naarm later this year & we're very much looking forward to it :)

Tentacular 26 ~ Sybil

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.
