For the next episode we’ve invited DJ STAKIS aka DJ KEEF. Originally from Switzerland, now living in Leipzig we first met when he bought one of our records at the beginning of this summer. After a quick chat we invited him to our show and he gladly accepted our invitation. Prepare for Old-School Electro, Ghetto and Booty Tek as well as classic Chicago Hip-House played from wax and digital by the passionate selecta. He himself describes his sets as the soundtrack for a stripclub in 1995, when the footwork and juke scene just started. 
We’re expecting some serious heat from the self titled Antistyle DJ and we guess you guys too, so don’t miss out on this one!

Emmie, based in Ngunnawal, has been one of Canberra’s most flourishing selectors over the past two years. Emmie’s ability to mix and match more experimental, mind-bending and sinister prog, tek, electro, and dnb has landed Emmie as a regular at “sideway” - Canberra’s very own nightclub with international recognition for their quality acts, sound and culture. Emmie’s technical prowess and feminine touch has been sought after by organisers and audiences. This has landed Emmie on bills with some of the most prominent names in providing underground sounds, including: Higher Intelligence Agency, Helena Hauff, Woody 92, Sleep D, Object Blue, TSVI and Roza Terenzi. Enjoy the next hour that Emmie has curated for Chalkboard TT, consisting of a blend of deep, swampy, futuristically padded and progressive tunes. An uncomfortably comforting journey of deconstructed grooves.

We had the pleasure of meeting Syd and Beth this year whilst travelling through the UK. Their energy, chemistry and approach to music inspired us both. We feel like it’d be a special inclusion for the debut month.

Chalkboard TT #002 -2SB (MCR)

Peachlyfe is a hydra-sonic electronic musician thats hook & seduced the Copenhagen fast-paced techno scene, claiming their seat along with the Fast Forward Agency. Peachlyfe’s productions and live sets rebelliously weave across genres, trippy melodies cut with heavy slaps while slithering whispers in your ears owing the dismantlement of the ‘cistem’. Their previous EPs “All Tits are Real, All Money is Fake, All Hail Satan”, “Swamplyfe”, and “Against All Reason” are odes to that anarchic playfulness, a marvellous feat in blending rave-rush joy and queer defiance.Their recent EP “Boī\_(ツ)_/ ̄” serves equal parts juicy techno and epic trance with that Peachlyfe trademark:The shenanigans are continuously brought to yet another level. 

This Chalkboard TT mix is a live recording from Petra’s set when we had the pleasure to host them at “sideways” earlier this year (02.09.2023). It was a treat to be able to show Petra our little city and it has been special to have stayed connected since. Enjoy this 70 minutes of uniformed hard hitting kicks from one of the driving forces in today’s techno scene!

Hey we are Angus and august, and we’re super stoked to be featured on the mix series. If you’re interested in us, we’re just a couple of guys living in a share house and we have decks. 
We’ve been fortunate enough to play at some really sick events, such as badger dens sessions, bush doofs and even our own sideway gig. We’ve opened for some well known DJs like Klon Dump, Willem and Kaysteng, as well as supporting our mates Luca, gollings, and joe negrine. We present to you 60 minutes of our favourite tracks. Chalkboard TT #003 - Quant & Qualia

Isaac (d.hyun), co-owner of Turning Tables, founded the collective during lockdown 2021. Turning Tables had its origin in Soundcloud Radio and showcased Nugunnawal’s (Canberra’s) DJs at house parties. When restrictions eased, floor-bending kitchen sets turned into club nights and parties in the paddock. Isaac has a preposterous love for tunes, with a mania for deep meditative groove. This hour Isaac has curated for Chalkboard displays his devotion to modern jungle, techno-infused drum and bass and IDM. Isaac has showcased the darker side of his collections with tracks that are heavier to digest but full of meaning. A selection that has intertwined dub-infused basslines and soulful percussion with futuristically digital and spacey techno and IDM elements. This mix pays homage to the foundations and the past whilst maintaining a forward-thinking perception towards jungle/DnB. A journey through percussive broken beats, experimental techno-dub, dark breaks and bouncy jungle - meditation.

AIHORSEPIC - IN UNIT - DIRTY LAUNDRY

Based on Ngunnawal Country, Mimosa is a dj and event organiser who loves the club. Founder of Hyphae (@__hyphae), she organises queer/femme led bass nights and wants to make safer, accessible parties the norm. Her selections are heavy and eclectic, usually characterised by sexy femme melodies, bass and percussion.

Music and dancefloors are inherently linked to resistance and community liberation. It’s impossible to enjoy music without thinking about its role in resisting colonialism and all the systems of oppression that reinforce each other. As genocide is being violently committed in Palestine, Congo, Sudan, West Papua and we continue to live on stolen Aboriginal land - We need to stand together in solidarity, in the music scene online and on dancefloors and at protests. This mix tries to pay homage to oppressed peoples across the world making music as a form of resistance. Colonialism must crumble, no one is free until everyone is free. 

From the river to the sea. Always and always will be.

His take on left-field electronica is hypnotic and undulating, intense yet delicate - A forward-thinking approach to synthesise elements of IDM, DNB, and rolling techno.

Juste S puise son inspiration dans une variété de styles musicaux tels que la house, la techno, le break, la funk, la UK bass ou encore l'hip hop pour créer ses sets. Co-fondatrice et résidente de la Taquinerie, elle incorpore habillement les caractéristiques qui lui plaisent de chaque genre afin de construire l’atmosphère qu’elle imagine dans sa tête.

Que se soit dans un club, lors d’un festival ou simplement en écoutant sa musique chez soi, elle cherche à créer une expérience immersive où le corps et l’esprit peuvent se connecter à travers le pouvoir libérateur de la danse et de la musique électronique.

Pour ce podcast, elle a imaginer une construction et une partie de ce qu'elle aime écouter qu'elle n'a jamais réellement montrer encore en podcast. Elle joue la carte de l’éclectisme toujours marqué par des rythmes qui changent et qui caractéristiques mon style.
