Introducing Effdot 

Fletcher Dobson Harper also known as Effdot has been DJing over the past few years throughout Canberra venues and events whilst also being involved in the organisation of Capital Courtyard. We sat down and had a chat with him about how he began as well as the Canberra music community and his plans for the future. FITT Tek is a Canberra based DJ collective that has just emerged into the Canberra music scene. The four person group consists of Fin (robb), Indy (indy), Tom (thumb) and Tom (bey my pleasure) who have a range of different styles and passions in regards to music and the likes.
 
FITT Tek is eager to progress their DJ’ing and hopefully release some music in the near future.

Introducing Woodruff!

Woodruff is a 19 year old Canberra local DJ, well known as 1/2 of the duo Tekito. No stranger to the Canberra club scene, Woodruff has demonstrated his range of dance music sounds throughout Fiction and One22 for the past 2 years. Influenced by the European deep and minimal house scene, Woodruff is known for selections from the likes of Luuk Van Dijk, DJOKO and Chris Stussy. Pursuing his studies of event management, Marcus kicked off 2020 with the sellout event Capital Courtyard, alongside his two mates Theo and Effdot. Settle in for the next hour as Woodruff has put together some of the best deep house tunes that is bound to get those hips shaking.

PREMIERE: roker - Lovin' You [Korova]

Newcastle's 12 year old party Ape-X continue to build their label of the same name after 2 high octane releases from MARSKE & REES. Release number 3 comes from newcomer Dyslecta making his first full EP debut on the label with a remix from friend and rising UKG mixologist Glockta.

Dyslecta is prodigious production talent, and the latest unique voice to emerge from the current scene in Newcastle and the North East of England, which is currently proving to be one of the most fertile in the country right now.

Dyslecta inherited a love for electronic music through his father but, due being born and raised in rural East Yorkshire, had little recourse to engage with the medium other than by obsessively immersing himself fully in the online electronic music world while at home. 

This intense yet disconnected consumption of electronica has to lead to a unique methodology in making his music, and a style of DJing that has seen him rapidly gain attention for himself since moving to study in Newcastle, securing a residency at one of the cities most well respected long standing House and Techno Parties, Ape-X.  

2020 sees Dyslecta release his debut EP on Ape-X Records.
Musically straddling the experimental sweet spot nestled at the nexus of Dub Techno, Electro, and Hardcore, his first-ever release calls to mind masters like Drexciya and Claro Interlecto, as well as contemporary artists like Skee Mask and Hodge. It speaks of a depth of understanding that belies his tender years and hints at a very exciting future.
