Tagliabue releases his debut mini-album Ambiente Sonoro on Elephant Gait Music with six contemporary tracks deeply inspired by the reality that surrounds us.

Imagination has no limits, when stimulated by sounds that slowly shade and snake in the listener’s conscious.

Library music is a genre that introduced an extensive use of electronic sounds and high techniques in music making, these experimental and psychedelic compositions enriched Italian radio, film and television soundtracks during the 70s. Artists like Daniela Casa, Egisto Macchi and Piero Umiliani provided scores for documentaries, educational projects and other sound installations; they influenced and helped the Milan based artist to produce his debut mini-album “Ambiente Sonoro”. His experience as a music selector and his previous productions anticipate the character of this new contemporary work. A record that cannot be placed in a specific genre. Ancestral rhythms, post-industrial waves, apocalyptic chants and modular drones, suggest a mental projection into a new planetary system consisting of six bodies with different landscapes, kept in orbit by a cosmic sound perturbation. A dreamy state of emotional, protracted and reflective abandonment.

Tagliabue is a sound engineer, selector and music producer based in Milan. His meticulous musical research reflects an eclectic style characterized by an Italian attitude which is the expression of the love for his land and its traditions. Tracing a music-temporal path that comes from folk sounds mixed with contemporary electronic, he takes inspiration from the environment that surrounds him and breaks down the boundaries between the genres blending its musical influences and reinterpreting its origins with a propensity towards the future.

"We've been big admirers of Bristol-based Idle Hands employee Sam Hall for some time now, having brought him to Sheffield for a PPG x Idle Hands party in August 2016, so it's a real joy to have him step up to provide the latest entry to our mix series two and a half years on. Clocking in at 2 hours and 15 minutes and featuring no less than 26 of his wonderfully weird selections, the vinyl only submission is our longest and most trippy for some time. It's a genuine journey spanning a wealth of brilliant music, most of which we've never heard before, and including a bunch of usually peak-time records played at the slower 33rpm speed. Six months ago I started a series on the online music magazine Stamp The Wax called 'Bin Digging: £1 Records' where I shared a video across their social media platforms of a record that I'd bought for £1 or less in record shop bargain bins, carboot sales or charity shops across the world.

Vienna-based DJ, producer and label owner Florian Stöffelbauer aka Heap (Vienna, Austria) is the man behind NEUBAU (alongside Bocksrucker, and formally Simon Heidemann), one of the most exciting labels of the last few years, which keeps impressing vinyl enthusiasts since it's birth in 2015.
 As this wasn't enough, he also successfully runs 'Discus Throwers', a well known online record shop, and he co-runs the fantastic YouTube channel “Basic Rhythm” , a mirror of Florian's own tastes.
Deep knowledge of music and many secret gems in his vinyl bag let him guide faithful listeners all over Europe.

Free Shelter Edits #8

Mostly known for his works with the Ears on Earth label and BF Treatment duo, JAI does what he usually does best on his edit of Magic Fly; Mixing up ravey 90’s sounds with a modern twist. Lau Tropico then proceeds with his take on Djulu, that eases us for the heavier load coming in later. Aaron Maple do his usual magic that we’ve all been accustomed to with his edit of This Is A Sound. A sure-fire party starter that’ll make even the most modest guest make this feet do a 1-2 step. Ramin and Reda continues on, where Aaron left us, with their heavily middle-eastern inspired Dehati and guides us for our final number by the man behind the operation; Miro-Benji. The release ends with, in his own words, an “anti-edit” of Love Will Tear Us Apart. One of those tracks that is perfect as an ender but still leaves the listener urging for more.
