From the very beginning, to pretty much the end. Wrote this one just over 2 years ago. The words say it all with, autobiographical accuracy.

Well I met a girl at the age of 12
We ran away at just 16
Well I rescued her, from a stepmother
I made her the happiest she'd ever been
By 22 we'd had 2 kids
At 24 she took my hand
But on my 30th birthday she sat me down

Well the talk turned to screams and we argued all night
What had it meant then all those years?
But I swear these words were written in her eyes
beneath the wailing and the tears

I lived alone for several years 
My life was uncomplicated thing
But then one day, in a local café
I met a waitress who made my heart sing
Well her hair was dark, and her lashes long
And her mind was light as air
And even though she was half my age
Well we just didn't care
But at last I came to realise
That our age might be a splitter
Cos she kept taking selfies on our dates
