Week 5 peer review assignment submission for Coursera.  Kinda came up with this fairly quickly.  I have had a song in my head for my daughter for a long time...funny thing, this isn't it, but its still about my family and my daughter.  This will be updated for the week 6 assignment with a second guitar most likely during the intro and the bridge (lead guitar kinda) and also to probably double the verses or provide a layer in the verses.  We will see what I can spin up using audacity.

The general gist of the song is going from a college student, to a husband, to a father. Chorus is just about how much I love my daughter and how she has made me grow up.

Growing up with you

This is the second take I did for the week 6 peer reviews.  I tried my best to rework the vocals a bit due to some very harsh criticism from the week 5 reviews.  I am not the best singer, and I know that. This is a pop punky kinda song for my daughter and wife that they and a few others have enjoyed.  It is not meant to have soaring vocals like Mariah or Celine can do. (Just had to say that for the nay sayers, however, I do appreciate the nice comments from other folks here on soundcloud).

Specifically I re-worked all up until the bridge.  I liked the bridge and final chorus from the alpha version.

For the class, this was all about front or back weighted lines.  I noticed that I already had some back weighted lines in the song, and I didn't want to create too much instability, so I didn't change much other than vocal melody.

This is in preparation for my week 6 peer assignment for Coursera's Songwritting course with Pat Pattison.

The only change here was a quick 2nd guitar to add to the musicality of it.  Nothing changed with the vocals yet that will be in the next version.
