Mancunian musician, DJ and artist Danny Ward dons his 'Moodymanc' hat to work vocals he recorded with legendary vocalist and old friend Diane Charlemagne (Goldie, Moby, High Contrast, London Elektricity) to produce a poignant EP of retro futurist deep and soulful music. In his own words:
"I had always known Diane as one of the 'older' musicians and artists we all looked up to when growing up in Manchester. We became fast friends and partners in mischief when working and touring together with Urban Cookie Collective when 'The Key The Secret' became an accidental hit (a semi guilty secret!). When I started my solo production career as 'Dubble D' Di was always a mentor and collaborator, taking time out from working with the likes of Goldie (Inner City Life) and touring and recording with Moby to record with me and also to work on our 2020 Soundsystem project, singing live and recording our cover and homage to the timeless Frankie Knuckles anthem 'Your Love'. We remained close up to her untimely loss in 2015 which, for me as so many, hit really hard.
It was on the tail end of one of these sessions that we recorded the vocals for 'Take Me Back' over some beats I had been working on at the time. They had been sitting on a hard drive, being revisited from time to time without anything solid coming together until lockdown, when the spirit and sentiment of the lyrics seemed to resonate so much on both a personal and global level, and inspiration hit in a big way!
The original mix harks back to soulful breaks and broken beat times but (hopefully) with a forward thinking and futuristic outlook. I revisited the vocal once more when I'd done this to do some deeper versions, with a little more space. It's a release that has a lot of personal meaning and emotion for me. I sincerely hope that you enjoy it."

First marathon session I have ever released.  Several tracks were tracks I played at Burning Man and the rest inspired by it, since it was so transformational for me.  It's basically 3 mixes in 1, moving in and out of Deep Progressive, Tech House, etc.  Tried to keep it interesting :)

Huge shout out to all of the beautiful people I met and made amazing friends with at Burning Man, and extra special thanks to my friend Rachelina (Rachii) that was with me when I mixed this and helped guide the direction of the mix <3

One more extremely important Shout Out I have to give:  my man Mad Myles.  We met at my complex and after speaking for a while, I found out he is a World Class DJ with an endless list of accomplishments, and quickly asked him if we could mix together and mentor me.  He did without hesitation, and he has been an absolutely critical part of my growth.  Our mix sessions, and watching his incredible mixing abilities and techniques helped me become much, much better in an extremely short amount of time.  Myles, you're my boy, thank you dearly <3

Every few years we receive a demo from Poland which makes us speechless. The first was Pol_On, the next Tanzlife & ID Ensemble and now Piotr Bejnar and Oskar Szafraniec. Piotr is an eccentric figure in Warsaw’s electronic music scene and the man behind the tasteful labels Otake Records and 2529KM, while Oskar resides in Berlin, where cooperations with Ricardo Villalobos and Pier Bucci have given him plenty of attention, showcasing his versatile productions on several prestigious labels. 

For their Connaisseur debut, the two talents locked themselves into the studio for several days, creating an impressive output for this short amount of time. From their demo, we picked the four tracks which fascinated us most. The final result is a two part release, each consisting of two tracks, which will be released with an in-between gap of two weeks. 

"Sleepless Days“ has a more classic house approach with plenty of live played instruments, while "Sleepless Nights“ goes deeper and adds a slighty more techno twist to the productions.
