The Poland-based producer's four-track debut EP “Welcoming” will be out on the 4th of August through German-imprint NDYD Records and features singers Jennifer Anderson, Kiki Kyte, Azteka and Danny Silva who are contributing heavily to each track a very unique vibe. From the funky ‘Tearin’ Up The Dancefloor’ to the discoish ‘Funk Queen’ all the way to the New Jack Swing-inspired ‘Treat Your Right’, you do feel like on a travel back in time to re-discover a golden era when it comes to sound. Brand new Bastard Jazz signing Buscrates comes out of the gate swinging with his first release for the label full of the bubbling, electronic funk he's become known for. "Lost & Found" features the vocal talents of Sally Green over a slappin' bassline, guitar licks and airy synths while "Cruise Control" goes on an instrumental ride with it's heavy drums, catchy g-funk lead and growling bass. Another funky affair from the Pittsburgh producer.

Native Bay Area vocalist Adesha first delved into the neon-lit chambers of modern synth funk in 2019 with the release of her single "Just Groove," a collaboration with Australian DJ/producer Vincent Kwok. Fast forward one rotation around the sun, and you will find her in the company of Sleepers Recordz for her next foray into the genre, "The Secret" & "Satisfied With My Love?"

Working with Kwok again on production, both of these tunes allow you to stay warm under a comfortable blanket of nostalgia, via the use of familiar keyboards, plus DMX and 808 drum sounds. The synth work might evoke thoughts of Kashif or Jam & Lewis from the SOS Band era, yet Adesha's sultry vocals may give you a feeling more akin to 90's R&B. It's a pleasant pairing, made even more so with a contemporary sense of arrangement that allows this duo of songs to fly well beyond simply playing on a listener's memories of the past. In short, the influences are clear but Adesha puts a brand new spin on the sound. And so the funk continues.

Sleepers adds another volume to their latest run of limited edition vinyl, with "The Secret" & "Satisfied With My Love?" pressed as a run of only 100, on blue colored wax.
