Music and music education mean more to me than gaining knowledge of just one universal work of art. I am passionate in my beliefs that music is the universal language of life and enlightenment from higher power that consists in balance of both lyrical syncopation and melodic instrumentals - used to harmonize and touch the souls of those who connect on a spiritual level. It is the expression of one’s inner being – love, pain, struggle, hardship, inspiration and/or achievements through their sacrifices, emotions, passion, energy, delivery, and dedication. When it comes to us self-implied “Music Junkies”, we live for our music and will leave no obstacle unconquered and no barrier unbroken.

I, Ibrahim Mohamad Boumelhem, was given God’s gift of birth in Detroit, Michigan on January 6th, 1989. Throughout my childhood, I experienced many rough changes – both physically and mentally. I was blessed in finding ways to overcome them. I found music to be the strongest way of them all! I was in a devastating van explosion in Dearborn, Michigan at just 7 months old. The explosion resulted in over 89% of my body being severely burned and scarred from head to toe. I was rushed to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn by EMS when I was experiencing hemorrhagic shock and was then airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Detroit to receive proper medical attention. They declared there was a 0% chance of surviving due to the severity of the burns and the condition I was in. I was put on life support and spent about 3 months in a coma in the Intensive Care Unit. My mother stayed at my bedside 24 hours a day and had very little opportunity to close her eyes for sleep. She would pray to God each and every day for even the slightest sign of life from my unconscious, blistered, and gauze wrapped body. One morning her prayers were answered as she watched over my bedside and noticed my pinky toe slightly begin to wiggle, making a statement to both, my parents, and also the medical staff. It was indication to not consider me a goner - I was going to survive, and that was just the beginning! 

Music has played a major role in helping me overcome these changes. As I grew older, my family and close friends of the family realized that I had a very strong passion for music and also the phenomenal gift of writing, singing, and dancing. At the early age of 4 years old, I began composing poems and short songs, along with short stories and also started performing for and entertaining vast crowds of people at family BBQ's, reunions, and a variety of other family oriented events using a karaoke machine. Music is my passion and inspiration in life to keep pushing forward. I have a desire to inspire, motivate, and encourage others to never quit or give up on life, nor on their dreams and goals. No matter how bad they may believe that life is for them at that moment in time, whether it’s a physical or mental disability that one may have, we need to embrace what it is and use it to fuel the fire to do great things. With severe scarring and missing digits on my left hand, most people would be in total shock or at disbelief of the miracles and my abilities to conquer the personal goals in life that I have already achieved and also the ones I still strive for. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunities of working with and collaborating with many of the positive artists that I have built such amazing bonds with.

A vast majority of the music and compositions that I have written have been highly influenced and inspired by a variety of many of the greatest names in the industry and of all time, starting with my absolute favorite, Stevie Wonder. Many of my writings have also been inspired by other artists such as Ray Charles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jim Morrison and The Doors, Queen, Foreigner, The Beastie Boys, The Beatles, Boyz ll Men, Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5, along with many of the greatest Motown artists such as The Temptations and Aretha Franklin. More modern artists that also influence my creations of composition also include Eminem, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Maroon 5, Mariah Carrey, Christina Aguilera, Brittney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N-Sync, etc.

I am privileged to have experienced the joy of learning and playing many musical instruments throughout my lifetime. At the age of 10, I began playing the recorder. By the age of 12 I started learning to play percussion instruments and also the trumpet. I have been blessed with the gift of producing beautiful sounds and melodies by ear using the keyboard and piano since the age of 14. Today, at the age of 25 years old I am still passionately experimenting with and gaining knowledge of these instruments along with some others.

From a young boy to the growing man that I am today, I have grown up migrating from home to home and city-to-city. With each move came many responsibilities, along with many changes. Some were good and others not so much. Regardless of how disappointing or gloomy my days seemed to get, I’d fight the negative energy with light and positive energy, and found myself overcoming my daily struggles. I believe that I was born with a gift, which has helped me overcome these struggles. That is the gift of musical intelligence on a higher and more concentrated area, and also the power to use my abilities to my benefit. When I am in an uncomfortable situation, I remove myself from the scenario by tuning out the negativity and channeling myself into a world of music and creativity. I tell myself to focus and my knowledge will take me far, to be patient and the time will find me. Collecting thoughts and using them creatively is the greatest way for me to escape the reality I live in, and to focus on the more positive ways of life. It also showed and still shows me how much more life has to offer!

I am happiest when I’m expressing my talents and pursuing my career as an artist. I have been creatively songwriting, recording, and performing my own original music for over the past five years. Throughout my lifetime I have also performed covers and danced at many events from family events and school talent shows to television shows and more major concerts. 
	
I have been involved in many musical programs, which include Vocal Music as well as Band throughout elementary and junior high school. During my high school years, I was involved in Choir Class where I was hand selected by my director to join the Advanced Choir when it was created the following year. I was known as the lead male vocalist in most of the music involved programs and classes that I attended. Also during my high school years I was involved in Drama class, which has helped educate me on stage presence, acting, and performing in front of large crowds of people and for other incorporated entertainment purposes. I have performed for many non-profit organizations, competitions, school talent shows, and major concerts both nationwide and overseas. I have also performed and hosted at an extensive list of bars, clubs and restaurants - receiving many standing ovations and a few awards.

I have played a major role as a dancer on a local television show called "D-PARTY" also known as "Detroit Dance Party" which was aired on WADL Detroit Television Network. I have been filmed on and participated in multiple episodes of the show from January of 2008 through May of 2008, which were aired for about 2 years and still air every so often. The statistics of my music have since drastically increased and are still increasing day by day, as I come closer to my goals and dreams, fighting as a ferocious lion would in the wilderness jungle to become king, I continue to compose, sing and dance my way to success! My choreography and dance styles range from a variety of Hip-hop genres, to Ballroom, to Break Dancing, etc. I am currently in the process of finishing my first album.

I am looking forward to the following years of life. Finding my true self is only the beginning! There is so much more that comes with life than what shows through the shadows of our younger years in youth. I have dreams and goals, dreams and goals that will be conquered!
