Airwaves

The Duplex Phase is a crushing slink through a day of trying to escape existential woes and anxieties. Born from trying to create a Neil Young / Crazy Horse style groove and lyrics inspired by Alan Resnick’s short film 'This House Has People In It', where security cameras in a family home witness the daughter phasing through the kitchen floor. 

The song is a wish to disappear into the ether to evade anxiety, toxic folks and toxic situations. Who hasn’t wanted the floor to swallow them up on occasion? But, in the end, the desire to connect with another person who can help you stare down this desolation is a strong pull back into the world. So it is a kind of happy song, despite all evidence to the contrary.

The August List are a six-piece psych folk rock band from Oxford. Their new EP, 'Sun Pinned On Ghost Sky', comes out on the 7th November 2025 on streaming and vinyl. It sounds like a fuzzy anxiety slink and they recommend you check it out. They are touring in November (here are tickets: https://lnk.bio/theaugustlist).

They have toured across the UK and Europe, performed alongside luminaries such as Jesca Hoop, Trembling Bells, The Lovely Eggs, and Gwenifer Raymond and appeared at prestigious festivals such as Festival Number 6, Wilderness and Truck.
