The Barefoot Adventures returns with a zoom into the rich musical history and culture of Uruguay.⁠ While virtually diving into this small but fascinating place, I came across new genres such as Candombe, Canto Popular, Uruguayan Rock, Milonga, Murga, and of course Cumbia.⁠

Digging in was an absolute treat, and it was difficult to squeeze my discoveries into a 2 hour show, but I think I just about managed it.⁠

The Barefoot Adventures - 25 - Uruguay

So excited to continue this beloved series with a sonic exploration of Laos. This episode we discover rare cuts and selections from an array of time-periods in this countries complicated timeline. I take us on an auditory time-capsule, learning the sounds of Mor Lam, Luang Prabang (traditional court music), music of the Khene flute (instrument of Laos), Vietiane and Chmapasak styles.

Thank you to all the native Laos people who helped me begin to learn and discover the sounds of this wonderful place. Also, Thank you you to Ae.
