PREMIERE: The Coka Bros - Minimal Action [Stuck in Time]

Golden Gate is a new disco and house project from Leeds, UK who's debut ‘Enter The Golden Gate’ EP drops on The Disco Express. United by a love for Masters at Work and Nuyorican Soul, DJ/producer Tee Cooper and songwriter/vocalist Harper Lake classic house and disco, played live, produced for the dance floor.  Assembling a cast of their favourite vocalists and musicians from across the world, Tee & Harper formed Golden Gate. The EP has two tracks plus remixes for each. For ‘Shine Like the Sun’ they’ve enlisted Adeleye Omotayo, a powerhouse London soul vocalist who us known for work with Gorillaz and Amy Winehouse. Ade and Harper duet on the track, a song about unexpected love and lust on the dancefloor. It’s a feel-good blend of disco instrumentation and the spirit of 90s NYC house and debuted live at last year’s Wilderness festival to great acclaim. The Remix comes from man of the moment The Reflex, known for seminal recent mixes of Cerrone, Duran Duran and more he shows his commitment to supporting new artists and turns in a scorching rework that loops up a keyboard part and teases all the live instruments in across 8 tantalising minutes.

'Explore the 'Jacuzzi Days' EP, stemming from the fruitful collaboration between the talented German producer ICTV and the Swiss knife DimSum. These longtime accomplices, previously united on the Love Ensemble project, came together last summer in the South of France to give birth to this sun soaked Deep House workout. The A-Side features a solo production from each, starting off with 'Morning Dew' by ICTV, which carries a strong sentiment, embedded in a modern House music production.

Next on is DimSum's 'Rama to NY,' an ode to the Deep House sounds of 90s New York, adorned with a Soulful touch and Hip-Hop samples. The flip side features the collaborative tracks of this EP, a perfect blend of both of their universes. 'United Freedom Inc.,' a club-ready tune drawing influences from 90s House, sprinkled with subtle modernity and a vocal sample depicting our contemporary society. The EP closes with 'Jacuzzi Days,' an invitation to escape inspired by Italian Dream House of the golden era.
