You must be an empath and introvert. The feeling of random "sadness" and being alone to work through things is such an empath-introvert thing to do. When I feel that way, it's usually because I have worn myself out socially and/or emotionally. And by emotionally I mean soaked up other peoples emotions. You've tapped out! I tell myself in those moments that I'm not actually "unhappy", I just need some "me" time. Something that is just for me and I'm not allowed to feel guilty about doing it, whatever it is.
