The Orioles won 4 out of 6 on their homestand, and 6 of 8 overall  after sweeping the White Sox, as they try to inch closer and closer back to decency. Charlie Morton and Dean Kremer have looked great, the bullpen has settled (a bit), and the offense is about to get back Colton Cowser and Jordan Westburg. The Birds flew out West and continued their winning ways in Seattle, sweeping the Mariners. For the 3rd week in a row, the Orioles went 4-2 and now find themselves 10 games under .500 after being 18 games under back in the 4th week of May, and they sit just 6 games out of the final Wild Card spot as they look to become just the 5th team to start a season 30-40 and make the playoffs. Led by a returning, resurgent Jordan Westburg and a re-born Charlie Morton, does this team have what it takes to make a run? After losing of 2 of 3 to the Rangers, the Orioles bounced back to take 2 of 3 from the Rays, completing a .500 homestand before heading to Texas to take on the Rangers again in a 3-game series beginning tomorrow night. The bats have stepped it up this month, but Tomoyuki Sugano and Zach Eflin have taken a nosedive, the latter likely headed for the IL with a lower back strain. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! After a disappointing series in Texas where the Orioles won the first game for the 4th consecutive series, the team proceeded to lose the next two games to lose the third of those four series.
