The Beardogz


After meeting a Danish girl, the Beardogz’s lead singer and songwriter Spencer Soucy spent two years travelling back and forth between Copenhagen, Denmark and his hometown of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Unable to legally live and work in each other's countries, the two packed their bags every three months, visa-hopping back and forth.

It was at the vintage, second-hand desk in their freshly painted yellow, Copenhagen living room that the songs for the upcoming EP Living Room Yellow first started taking form. And it was back at home in Rhode Island that Soucy took the songs for The Beardogz to learn and record in these three month intervals.

The Beardogz are an indie rock band from Woonsocket, Rhode Island composed of Spencer Soucy (lead vocals/guitar), his brother Peter (vocals/guitar), Jonathan Blanchette (percussion/trumpet), Ethan Guevremont (trombone/saxophone), and Brian Rowe (bass/clarinet/flute).

Rising to local acclaim through their debut EP The Beardogz (2017) and their trip to the finals of the 2017 WBRU Rock Hunt, the band has steadily endeared themselves to the Rhode Island music scene. Their happy-go-lucky bedroom folk-rock which follows in the footsteps of Kings of Convenience has brought the band to a host of Rhode Island venues, and to support artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Becca Stevens, and Darwin Deez farther afield.

After their debut EP The Beardogz (2017), and their albums All That We Said in School (2017) and The Woods We Scour (2018), The Beardogz are releasing their EP Living Room Yellow on December 11. Living Room Yellow marks The Beardogz’ first foray out of the bedroom and into the studio. Recorded at Big Nice Studio, mixed by Patrick Rowe (Volbeat), and mastered by Philip Shaw Bova (Andy Shauf, Bahamas, Devendra Banhart), Living Room Yellow is the result of the band changing out of their PJs and into their tuxedos.
