Around the Block (feat. Talib Kweli) - The Beatnick Remix

New single titled "Today Is Tomorrow" off the upcoming EP that will be released May 30th, 2014. 

For this track I really tried to encapsulate the idea of days passing by one after the other. In my mind, the sounds reflect one blue sky turning into the next. Much like the sky, the sounds are constantly changing and evolving, presenting us with an array of color and emotion as time passes on. 

This track also represents the beauty of the moment. In essence, it reflects our tragic inability to hold on to each day as something permanently constant, despite our best efforts. Instead, we are forced to make the most out of each day we are given on a moment to moment basis, and that is what much of this song is about. 

I came up with the title "Today Is Tomorrow" because I believe that it accurately represents the ideas I mentioned above. The song itself features countless synthesized sounds, dreamy guitar phrases, and a hauntingily beautiful vocal sample from a 1958 Ella Fitzgerald track titled “Blue Skies.” Check it out on YouTube around 0:37 seconds to see where I got it from. 

I hope everyone enjoys the new single; I always try and put my heart and soul into each song I produce.

Today Is Tomorrow

New EP titled “Processing The Moment”

Just over a year I ago I moved into a single bedroom apartment and began reconstructing a home studio in my living room. I brought as much of my gear as possible into the space available and starting crafting songs. Now that I had more instruments and better studio equipment at my disposal, I found myself increasingly motivated to push the boundaries. 

What resulted is a collection of six songs ranging various musical styles and creative approaches. In many respects they reflect my growth as a producer and even further a musician. (I actually rapped on one of the tracks haha. However, the most enjoyable part of this whole process was working, networking, and collaborating with various friends and fellow artists. It’s amazing how creative and positive people can be when working together. I am very excited to share the work. 

The title “Processing The Moment” came from my understanding of the concept of time. The present moment is all there truly is. The past, the future, and any thoughts or recollections we have regarding the two, are simply illusions. 
I want people to listen to each of these songs in the moment. They each stand alone in their own unique, individual way. Together they represent “Processing The Moment”

I would like to a send special thanks to Alex Love, Tessa Leachman, Tessa Rough, Lauren Haas, and everyone else who has supported me and made this release possible. It represents my best work to date and I can’t wait to push things even further.
