With "MK Ultra," The Behaviour initiates a new chapter in a sonic journey that blurs the line between spiritual introspection and raw, analog rebellion. The single delves into themes of control, inner conflict, and spiritual awakening - its title referencing the infamous CIA mind-control program - repurposed here as a metaphor for personal reprogramming and liberation, while facing the end of one phase of existence and preparing for what lies beyond in the next realm. It also is a reference to a loved one who lost his battle with cancer, as a tribute to him, but also for many others who passed on during the making of this recording. 
The track’s hypnotic pace and fuzzy, reverb-soaked production echo Kilpatric’s eclectic influences—from the gothic sensuality of my bloody valentine to the distorted swagger of Queens of the Stone Age. 
At the helm is Marshall Kilpatric, a seasoned drummer whose past credits include performances with Motörhead and Chris Cornell. Kilpatric is known for his work with Black Light Burns, where he replaced Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters), Today is the Day (where he replaced Brann Dailer, later of Mastodon), The Esoteric, and many others. With The Behaviour, he is now stepping fully into the role of frontman and producer. 
"MK Ultra" is more than a song; it’s a ritual in sound—one that reflects Kilpatric’s philosophy of shadow work, healing, and reclaiming one's voice from the noise. The single serves as the first of three releases leading to a larger EP set for fall 2025, capturing an artist in full command of his own cathartic evolution. 
It’s a release for the late-night wanderers, the seekers of truth, and anyone who finds beauty in darkness.

Blending alternative rock sounds, garage rock grit, and the expressive depth of blues, shoegaze, and melancholic rock, The Behaviour crafts brooding soundscapes that fit playlists for late-night drives, introspective reflection, and dark psych rock journeys. Fans of Queens of the Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, All Them Witches, and my bloody valentine will find a familiar pulse in the project’s fuzz-drenched guitars, analog warmth, and emotionally layered vocals.
The project is led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Marshall Kilpatric, a seasoned drummer known for his work with bands such as The Esoteric, Seaspin, Kylesa, Crisis, and many others. His career includes tours alongside Motörhead, Deftones, Chris Cornell, and The Smashing Pumpkins, and replacing Brann Dailor (later of Mastodon) in Today is the Day for their acclaimed double album Sadness Will Prevail. He also joined Wes Borland's Black Light Burns before the release of their debut, replacing Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters). Kilpatric played on two albums—including the cover collection Cover Your Heart—and co-wrote their third, with tracks featured on the Underworld soundtracks.
With The Behaviour, Kilpatric steps into full creative control. More than a solo act, the project is a cathartic exercise in shadow work. Beneath its dark, melancholic surface lies an arc of redemption, healing, and transformation. Influenced by Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, and Pink Floyd, he crafts songs that echo with spiritual undertones and poetic intensity.
The 2023 debut A Sin Dance earned acclaim from outlets like HONK Magazine and The Joy of Violent Movement. With three new singles and an EP arriving fall 2025 via Rexius Records, The Behaviour continues to evolve—inviting listeners into a space where darkness meets clarity, and noise becomes medicine.
